How is it that Hatton, who's only loss was to then #1P4P fighter PBF Mayweather is no longer in the top ten P4P but guys like Bernard (who lost to Calzaghe), Cotto (who lost to Margarito) and Calderon (who's relatively unproven)? And how does Paul Williams get on there? For beating some guy named Kolle? WTF?
Hatton is underappreciated by many observers, unless of course they're British. Truthfully, you're right though, he should definatly be a top 10. Calderon and Hopkins, I think are definatly deserving of top 10 status, Williams on the other hand, not so much, maybe in time. Cotto I think is a very close to top 10, if not right on the end of it.
I'm just trying to figure out how Hatton gets knocked out of the top ten for losing to the #1 guy and Cotto doesn't for losing to a guy who wasn't in the top ten? By that logic, wouldn't Hopkins also get knocked out of the top ten for losing to Calzaghe?
He beat an over the hill Kostya & a shot Castillo! Paulie Mag was his only other big name win. When he fought an elite fighter in his prime he was dominated, kayoed & tried to blame the referee! He is not a p4p fighter. :!:
Kessler only lost to the #1 or 2 abroad and is also outside the top 10. Hatton is more crude than Kessler, so from that point of view it is understandable that Hatton is outside. What I find unfair is that Latino boxers stay in top 10 after the loose. Cotto lost to Margo (who was not top 10) and yet Cotto stays in top 10. Hatton loses to Floyd who was no. 1 and yet Hatton is not top 10. What should really move someone out: Losing to someone who is not a top 15 p4p or losing to the top 1-2 p4p?
The brits and Floyd haters bumped Hatton down to make Floyds gigantic victory look mediocre. But it really was a great win being as though he closed the show in the most exciting fashion you could imagine. Hatton landing on the damn rock star...**** like that just dont happen everyday.
Lets get it straight, Hatton lost to the best guy of his generation. People like Cotto, Williams, Pavlik, Rafael Marquez, Hopkins put in top 10 P4P lists and they lost to guys like Margarito, Quintana, Vasquez, Taylor who to be honest, aren't on Mayweather's level.
Kessler was never in the top ten, although I believe he'll be there eventually. But you know what, I think you might be right. I never thought of that. Does Ring Magazine have a Latino bias?
Not sure who you are referring to as far as Pavlik. His only loss was to fellow P4Per BHop. Cotto is in probably the deepest division in the sport and was outclassing Margo until he ran out of gas... He also defeated Mosely and Malignaggi before the Margo fight. Marquez had wars with Vasquez... Hatton would've lost to Collazo if the ref wasn't a complete biased Homer from Britain (following the Mayweather fight) and if you deny that then you didnt even watch the fight. Up until his convincing win over Paulie he looked like **** since Mayweather destroyed him. So for you to put him above those guys doesnt make sense to me. I'll congratulate him on his recent victory, but beating a one handed fighter with no pop is not enough to get you on the list. Now if he defeats someone like Cotto or Pacman (after the DLH fight) then yeah I would put him on the list definately. One last thing; just because you LOSE and BADLY to the P4P #1 doesnt mean you get considered for the list. As I mentioned earlier, he got decked by PBF and has looked like **** until his victory last night so I wouldnt consider him for the top ten.
What? You mean Lazcano? Hatton dominated Lazcano. There is no way the referee saved him from defeat in that fight, only a complete twat would think so.
