Yeah he did, but his wins do not make him worthy of a p4p rating! You dont base a rating on who he lost to!:hey
Who has Williams beat? Quintana after losing to him, Margarito....erm......erm...yea. Pavlik has two wins over Taylor, a win over the extremely flawed Miranda and.....erm.....yea. Rafael Marquez got into the top 10 for LOSING two fights in a trilogy.... Margarito has wins over Cotto and Cintron....levelled out by a loss to Williams.... Even Hopkins...the guy has lost 3 of his last 6 fights, two of his wins being against blown up middleweights at catchweights. Hatton on the other hand has his only loss to the P4P#1, wins over Tyzyu, Castillo, Malignaggi.....beltholders like Urango and is a two weight world champion....
Pavlik is out of p4p list after Hopkins loss Raf Marquez lost 2 close fights to another p4p fighter! He wasn't dominated & then kayoed! (Hatton didn't belong in the same ring as Mayweather) Hopkins completely dominated Pavlik who was p4p at the time. Hatton doesnt belong! Sorry!:hi:
Yeah, and then they even have the nerve to use eachother as excuse why they should all be there. Move a lot into top 10 and then when they loose to a fellow laltino they either stay or move out, but at least that latino has now 'beaten a top 10 p4p" :nut Very biased towards latinos (this however can sometimes be beneficial to other boxers - in the case where they beat a lot of latinos because then they have to be highly regarded in order to keep up their own)).
Hatton was already on the top tne P4P list. He got dropped down from the top 10 after he lost to Floyd via KO, a fight where he had won some rounds. So why didn't Cotto get dropped from the top ten when he got KO'd by a guy who wasn't even on the list? And it was worse beating than Hatton received. Its ******ed, and so is your argument.
Good post, I dont think of it as a latino thing though. The Hopkins - Pavlik - Taylor thing is quite alike. You may like Hopkins I am impressed about the way he dismantled Pavlik. But lately B-hop lost twice, fact - even if controversially, to Taylor and to Calzaghe as well. If Taylor now, after the Pavlik losses, barely is worth of a top 25 spot, what the hell secures Hopkins his spot after the boring Calzaghe fight? Many people feel that Pavlik was a ordinary fighter, waiting to get exposed, but how can losing to a guy coming from 2 weight-classes above knock you out of everyones P4P-list, and if it can why is Hopkins still there with Taylor in mind? Is Hopkins lifetime secured a spot regardless of whatever happens? I hate it, but I always feel that these lists are a mix-up between accomplishment and skill and american marked value. I wish that people would either do accomplishment or skill lists and just skip the last part.
this post is bollocks. its you who obviously watch the collazo fight as the ref was an american, as were all 3 judges on a don king card, against a don fighter in boston. thats boston, USA . Also i've heard a lot on here before the paulie fight saying hatton has looked **** since the mayweather fight, like he'd had lots of bouts since. he only had 1 !! which he won easily. terrible post. as far as top 10 p4p goes, first of all it doesn't really matter as p4p lists are pretty much bollocks, everyones is different, if i was to do one he'd be around 10th i suppose but who cares really?
People on esb seem to forget or have never known what the p4p list actually means. It isn't judged on resume or beating other top p4p contenders to get on the list. You basically look at a fighters skill-set and compare it to other fighters in different weight classes to determine who would win if weight wasn't in the equation. This is how the p4p debate came about, Sugar Ray Robinson was considered the most skilled pugilist on the planet, yet people knew he couldnt beat the top heavyweights due to the size/weight difference, hence him being named p4p.
