i think we all know what pacmans like. but he did punch oscar alot and it didnt seem to hurt him. im just wondering if hattons going to get in and get ready for a big hitter and find pacman isnt all to strong. but his speed can defo catch him of guard. im just wondering if hattons power is too much for pacman ,consider diaz and oscar both failed to really test pacman in his world domination to win every title in every weight

I think Hatton will prove too strong and stop Manny but I wouldn't be shocked if I was wrong.

Bonavena:, the fact that Roach is confident means nada, he's part trainer, part cheerleader.

Im going to have to disagree. DLH was clinging on to the ropes at one point and was stuck in the corner on several occasions and didnt throw any punches. The only reason Pac didnt force the ref to step in was because he thought DLH could still throw so he backed off and let Oscar off the ropes. Clearly, IMO, DLH was in trouble and had no answer for Pac's speed and accuracy

far enough he couldnt open out and throw back, but thats what you expect some-one who is faster than you and your weight drained and he is so set on the fight he isnt letting you get a punch of.

how bout my diaz/oscar statements? you agree with them? that manny hasnt been tested at this weight.

If I'm going to listen to opinions though I'll go with Roach's more than Hatton's(these two are doing the analysing it seems). The way Roach is expressing his points and the general vibe he gives off is convincing. To me anyway, especially after the Oscar fight.

Whereas Hatton convinces me less so. He seemed convinced he would win in the Mayweather fight when most knew he would get horribly outclassed so it wouldn't surprise me if he again is underestimating the class of an opponent.

He seems to putting lot of stock on weight and "no one has beaten me at 10 stone". We'll see.

Yes, to a certain extent. The Diaz fight showed that Pac is miles better than Diaz but not a lot else. The Oscar fight was simply a case of DLH being a dick. Pac still did what he had to do though, although I would expect all the top welters to KO Oscar that night.

I think LWW is the perfect division for Pac. And although he hasnt proved much, he has proved that he has speed which is the key to this fight for me

Hatton will be the most powerful opponent Pac has faced but I dont expect Pac to get hit too much

Roach just likes to talk, all trainers/ fighters sound confident before a fight. I havn't heard a great deal of analysis (they ain't going to give their tactics away) from either camp, just the usual pre-fight noises.

for pacman i would love him to ofc win. but i just think this the pacman corner whos doin the underestimating. do they really think they can walk in and take hattons title? sure roach and floyd "joy" can give them tips, but once they in the ring its any-ones, and also this "new" hatton might be slicker than ever. roll on may the 2nd and the we shall all see. but for me i think roach got this terribly wrong and pacmans going to get hurt. not going to say its easy but i think hattons going to ko him. dreams all end some day

I really don't have a real feel for who will win either. Hatton is bigger and stronger and at his natural weight. Pacman has better movement, straighter punches and better speed. Both have been cut badly before.

If I had to pick.....speed kills, so I go w/ Pacman.

it is hard. i'm about 50.5-49.5 in hatton's favour. i don;t know why.

i thought he looked ok against mayweather, but he also had to fight cortes that night.

also everyone is talking about hatton's strength but the tale of the tape has pacquiao being bigger in nearly all measurements - chest, wrist, legs, etc. not sure if that makes a difference...

Putting aside all the ridiculous bias generated by the keyboard warriors on here, I'd like to agree with the thread maker.

I desperately want Hatton to win and therefore my heart says Hatton. Normally in this case you'd say "but my head says...Pacquiao" but I just can't quite rule Hatton out of my head.

Manny is clearly the better boxer, that is without doubt. He is much quicker and has fantastic footwork. Although I always look to back a British boxer, (it's only natural right?) I'm also a realistic fight fan and called the Mayweather fight bang on. Normally, speed kills but, as Malignaggi demonstrates, a bit of power is also needed. Whilst I don't doubt Manny's power at the lower weights, the DLH fight was not enough to convince me of his power at this sort of weight.

If Manny's power is good, I predict a stoppage win for Manny. Although, Hatton's chin is good, the volume of punches would be too much. However, if Hatton can get through Manny's power then I predict a stoppage by body shot. Hatton's great strength and Manny's biggest weakness.

Because of the weight, this fight has so many key variables. But, we won't find out the extent of the key factors until both fighters are in the ring fighting - that's what makes this fight so had to call.

One thing we can say...FIGHT FANS REJOICE THIS WILL BE A QUALITY FIGHT

LOL...I feel the same way. REALLY difficult to give one the edge and THAT is what makes this a fight with such exciting possibilities!
