Why was Pacquiao able to destroy Hatton like he did? Was it because of the problems Hatton had in training? Or was he just tailor-made for Pacquiao?
I think Hatton was at the end of a tough career and dont think the change of trainers was the right move for him. I think Pacquiao would have beaten Hatton all the same but think prime Hatton may have done a bit better. Im no expert but felt Hatton had already had a long career in building up fights before he became a champ
Hatton would've done better if he had a better trainer that taught him better defense, better head movement and covering up his face tighter with his gloves, like Winky wright did against Tito..
The Mayweather fight took everything out of Hatton already. Hatton said he could no longer take punches after that bout. May ruined him.
Hatton was in the stage of his career Tyson was post Rooney/Cus. Gone was the stability, work ethic and activity that his trainer and promoter (in this case Warren and Graham) had instilled in Hatton as a way to his counterproductive lifestyle, even Warren said they kept him active to keep in the gym and away from the pubs and bad lifestyle for a professional fighter. Gone was the stability....in had come the greed and bad influences, coupled with the fact he was facing a true phenom and the ending was what it was. Hatton bit the hand that fed him and was duly served.
Correct. Hatton would never have beaten Pac, but his prime years were before the Tsyzu fight. His weight dropping weakened him also in the chin department and stamina !
Had Pac found his balls and not done them peds and avoided Floyd, FLoyd would have knocked his ass out via hatton style! Floyd was close to knocking him in the 1st round in 2015!!
The Luis Collazo fight took everything out of Hatton already. Hatton said he could no longer take punches after that bout. Collazo ruined him.
I think Hatton was in his prime before the Tsyzu fight. He had so many fights before that one. He didnt fight Corley for the WBO belt and didnt seem to press for that fight. He didnt fight Witter etc. There are a few that I think were a bit past their best when they became champs. Its not always about actual age but sometimes wear and tear. I think Froch was very slightly past his best when he beat Pascal, Earlier in his 20s, I felt Froch was lighter on his feet and a bit faster. Still thats another thread
Hatton's problem did not have to due with advanced age or being worn out from tough fights. It was his lack of defense! He was able to get away with it fighting lesser opponents, but once he stepped up to A level opposition he got outclassed. The one thing that can be said about Mr. Hatton's career, is that, he was never outworked!
