Interview with Ray Hatton in today's Guardian: http://sport.guardian.co.uk/boxing/comment/0,,2206990,00.html "The plan is for Ricky to weigh in at 10st 3lb [four pounds inside the welterweight limit] against Mayweather because that's the weight he's best at," he says. "Collazo was a big man and we wanted to match him but we bulked up too much. Ricky came in too heavy and he lost his speed and reactions. We won't make that mistake again." Hatton's weight is already down to 10st 13lb, lighter than his camp expected at this stage. At this stage it is just a case of steady fine-tuning and waiting; first for the chest-out verbals in Vegas in the week leading up to the fight, then for his date with Mayweather at the MGM Grand.
Makes no difference in the slightest. Be it at 143 147 whatever weight Hatton will still take a beating.
I agree Mayweather will be the likely winner (although not sure how much of a "beating" Hatton will take). Can't think of many fighters who choose to weigh in that much below the limit though, Calzaghe being a pound and a bit under last week was surprising enough. I think it's the right decision by Hatton's camp as size (other than reach) won't be a factor in this fight.
Yeah he ran from Gatti. He ran from N`dou. He ran from Zab.He ran from Sharmba. You might want to think first before you type.:rofl
Well Hatton is no way near shot and Floyd is going to beat that ass. Im willing to make a avatar bet that the fight is not going to go the distance.
Good fight weight for Hatton, 3 pounds more than his usual weight and 4 pounds less than the weight limit seems adequate so that he's not too heavy to move fast with his feet, feint and strong enough to work sharply inside. Mayweather was 150 pounds last May and the additional 4 pounds he gave away didn't give Hoya any sort of advantage whatsoever.
Hatton will throw 20 more punches a round then floyd. he is gonna swarm all over him, clinching at the right time, keeping floyd off balance, and out of his rythme. floyds gonna get taken out of his comfort zone and i can't wait to see the worried look on floyds face when he realises he is on the way to his 1st defeat. and guess what, i will be the 1st on here calling out the smart ass floyd fans who are giving him no chance and i'll ram the result back down your ****in throats. by the way, how the **** do you spell rythme? lol
I see your clearly an idiot. You said Floyd was a runner. He stood and KO`ed those opponents and banged with them.Goes contrary to what you`ve said doesnt it Sherlock.:good
Well, he didn't stand toe-to-toe and push Baldomir back (something even the much larger Vernon Forrest couldn't do), so he's a runner. C'mon on man. Did you miss the memo that Merchant put out? He said it while he was drunk and cranky because he was watching a fight that wasn't an all-out slugfest, so it must be true.
