Hatton predicts change of style. what do you think?

Hatton's only chance is to hurt Pacman and somehow slow him down. I dont know if he can do that in time though.

 

He needs to make some adjustments. He had troubles with lefties in the past, and PacMan has that amazing Anti-Hatton punch, the straight left. No matter how he does is, but Hatton has to take that punch away, or partially block it, or he will lose by knockout.

Other than adapting to that punch and the southpaw style, he shouldn't mess up his game too much. Boxing in the middle of the ring wouldn't work as PacMan has the better handspeed. So Ricky has to cut down the ring smartly, upper body and head movement needed. At a short range, and especially at the ropes, he's very dangerous. If he can find the way to land the left hook to the body, which is also harder with PacMan being lefty, he can be very much in the fight and maybe break Pacquiao down. But he won't outbox Manny, that's for sure.

i think a change in style will be bad for hatton as i think his normal mugging, physically dominating self will be the best way to beat pacman. as i've said before, aside from jmm, the fighter pac had the most rouble with was agapito sanchez and sanchez was not a sweet scientist. he brawled with pac, hit him low, dropped his knee on pac's leg, butted him, he did absolutely everything he could to hurt pac and as a result, pac lost his focus and the fight ended in a draw.

 

Hatton has been fighting one way a long time and I don't expect to see a major change now. Mayweather Sr. will teach him some new things but Hatton will revert back to what he knows when the battle heats up.

 

I don't buy it. He has been fighting the way he did ALL his career, can't see him changing it all after only ONE fight with a new trainer. The changes can definitely be seen but there won't be a complete style change, no way. Improvements are possible, like some defense and probably movement, very possible and I still think those improvements won't be enough to beat Pacquiao.

you can't polish a turd. He might be a little more refined by Mayweather Sr. but it will still be Ricky Hatton.

 

If Hatton changes, He will lose Bottomline.
He will never be a defensive boxer, or be able to do the things Mayweather teaches.
