It will take more than getting through PacMan to make Hatton P4P no 1.

Will be a cracking fight though.

    :rofl

Seriously, where would people be rating Hatton if he beats Pac? Provided nothing else changes in the mean time, then I see him leap frogging my welterweights and going in somewhere begind Manny, JMM, Calzaghe and Izzy (considering dropping Izzy through inactivity though)

To be P4P he would really have to go up to 147 and clean up

Cant stay at 140 and claim to be the best P4P fighter

I dont see it that way. No shame in ruling one division. He's a long way off #1 obviously, but I think he could still stake a claim for a top 5 or at least top 8 spot with a win over Pac.

Division jumping for me just adds to greatness, it is not a pre requisite.

Depends on the competition at that weight. You can hardly beat Tim Bradley and Kendall Holt then claim to be p4p #1, as much as I think he should defend his title as the supposed "man" and lineal champ.

He would have to beat top welters, which he is completely incapable of.

Sure 'experts' rate him top 15 P4P now

Wlad Klitschko is as high as him id say on competition level:hey

If he beats Pac, I would rank him at around 4/5.

For him to be P4P #1 - he needs to beat......

    Pacquiao (obviously)
Winner of JMM/Diaz - preferably Diaz
    Mosley or Cotto

Even then, depending on the form of other guys, and how Pac may respond to the defeat it still might not be enough.

I would give him a fair shake at beating Cotto either at 140 or 147, but not a chance with Mosley. Stylistc nightmare there.

He has no chance of beating Cotto at 147. Zero.

This is pretty much how I see it, except I wouldnt fancy him at 147 against Cotto.

Also think JMM would be a nightmare for him. More so than Pac in my opinion.

I would make him a very live dog at 147 against Cotto, certainly not favourite, but stylewise with the pace that Hatton can set it may make Cotto uncomfortable.

JMM would be a styles nightmare, but certainly a winnable fight based upon Marquez possibly not being able to carry power up to 140 and also his speed. He is getting on as well.......
