Thats like asking a Yank to justify the KKK. You can't hold an individual responsible for every facet of his countries life, esp if that county is a democracy and supports free speech. The BNP are idoit hate mongers but to ban them from seeking polictical office goes against the values that most democracies claim to promote.
It's all to sell the fight and they're doing a great job. I'm sure they get on fine. According to this article Hatton's trainer was saying that they've been chatting to Mayweather on the tour. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7006292.stm "The two camps were flown around on the same private jet and Graham told me how Mayweather, who's only part bad-boy despite his reputation, had joined him at the back of the plane for long chin-wags about boxing and the universe."
TBH, I may be over-reaching here, but there does seem to be a hint of civility about their rivalry, the hate doesn't seem seething or anything, just a couple of boxers getting ready to fight.
They are hate filled morons why would I want to excuse them? Where I live our parliament is elected by proportional representation and their representation is precicely f*ck all.
The UK isn't fundmentally racist but there are racist elements like in every society or country. You shouldn't try to define a country based on a minority view. Lets lot loose sight here that there were no racist chants or insults at that press confererance and this fight isn't about race for the vast majority of people. Lets get back on ****ing topic......boxing!!!
I can confirm that, I was there. "Bring him on" (when it was suggested mayweather wouldn't come out), "who are you", "who the ****ing hell are you" and a lot of booing and cheering. Nothing racist.
That's a ridiculous statement. Using that kind of logic, I can call all countries racist, provided that some people hold racist views. It's like calling a country gay simply because some gay people inhabit it. The fact that these parties exist but are so small as to be insignificant only adds weight to the initial claim that the UK isn't a racist place.
The last i heard the police force and the education system wasn't a "minority" though!!, and the bnp seems to be getting more and more dumb racist members every year, your down playing the size of the issue.
As i said, the police force and the education system have been proved to be institutionally racist, that's not a "minority" these are organisations that serve the whole country.
So you're saying racism isn't a minority view in the UK? The whole issue in this thread got started because of some deaf **** stirrer...THERE WERE NO RACIST CHANTS:deal I'm sorry if this disapoints some people but those are the facts as they pertain to this thead. Anything else desends into polical/ social arguments and I'm not getting into that can of worms esp. not on a BOXING forum.
There are questions raised over the police force, but these have largley been explained as a few bad eggs. The selection process and the framework in which the police operate isn't inherently racist. The education system isn't one I've heard before. Could you expand on that one please? As for the BNP, they've seen moderate growth in some of the poorer areas of the country, true. However they're still tiny and more of an annoyance than anything else. In my opinion, the less people talk about them in the media, the sooner they'll die out. If they can't paint themselves as victims and aren't in the forefront of people's minds then they fall apart. They sure as hell can't survive on the strength of their policies as any legitimate party should.
