Do you how hard it is to stick and move Ricky Hatton? It cannot be done. This sounds a bit like Muhammad Ali against one of the sacks he fought in his prime. ^ Hatton isn't going to be standing in front of Pacquiao like Oscar De La Balboa getting his face beat in like a speedbag. Hatton is going to be running up on Pacquiao like a gangbanger making entree into a fist fight. Constantly.

Hatton has struggled with pretty much every southpaw he's faced, so I think that is a fair assumption.

Yeah. Pac doing the pressure. He's a different kind of pressure fighter. He lets you come in just to gauge your power. Then he circles you around while throwing those short straight until he's near enough to throw those multiple combination and then slides out again as if to reset what just happened.:good

it wont be easy but sure as hell can be done esp by the quicker southpaw.

rickys gonna run up and get tattooed in the process. but the difference (which was proven in the oscar/diaz fight) is that pac has the speed, power & lateral movement (unlike paulie) to not only give hatton fits but stop him in his tracks.

one thing about ricky is that he never gives up and will keep coming forward.... and thats one of the main reasons why i'm picking pac to stop him.

Pacquiao isn't exactly a Whitaker-capable type roller and mover though. Manny disengages falling backwards with his body erect, generally, with his gloves up. Floyd Mayweather didn't even bother trying to fight that way, because he knew he could not, effectively. Timing Hatton on the way in is messy, exhaustive work. Pacquiao doesn't have anything remotely resembling the defensive abilities of Floyd.

I fully expect to see something completely different from Pacquiao in this fight. If he tries to fight Hatton any way he's ever fought anyone else before he'll lose. If he tries to fight Hatton any way anyone else has fought Hatton before he'll lose.

Which is exactly what he won't be able to do against Hatton. You have seen Ricky Hatton fight, yeah?

Ofcourse i've seen him. He's a brawler..i like his style actually. Not the hugging tho. But his aggressive, who-cares-if-i-get-hit style. That's actually how i came up with my prediction:good

Then why is it that you think Pacquiao is going to have enough room, time, and/or distance to fight Hatton "circling" or "resetting?" There is going to be no time for that. None.

Thats the usual prediction when Pac goes in with a bigger, and relatively fast pressure fighter, and what i said was the usual outcome. We're just gonna have to wait and see then!:good

i see the complete opposite. the blueprint to beating hatton plays in pacs favor which is the same way he's always fought come forward fighters.

why the hell would he switch up when the quick southpaw style has already been a proven disadvantage to ricky... pacs speed will be a much more bigger factor as opposed to hattons overall strength.

imo manny is at his peak while rickys on the downslide. and at this point in hattons career i dont think he can eat punches like he used to. his best days are past him.

im not saying that the hitman doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell, but the odds of him KO'ing pac by a brutal body blow is slim.
