The WBC is tied up with Pacquiao vs Margorito bull****. Last night Cornelius Bundrage knocked out Cory Spinks who is shot to death for the IBF title.

Rhodes is ranked No.4 by the IBF and his next opponent Lucas Koncekny is there number 8.

Haven't seen this yet Rob, how did the fight play out and was it a legitimate stoppage?

Regardless of seeing this fight, I've seen a fair bit of Bundrage and agree it's a winnable fight for Rhodes.

havent seen it either but the reports are that he Spinks got bashed about the ring for 5 rounds.

    Fightnews said;

In a shocker, Cornelius ‘K9’ Bundrage (30-4, 18 KOs) became the IBF Junior Middleweight Champion in stopping Cory “The Next Generation” Spinks (37-6, 11KOs) at 1:28 in the 5th round. The new champion battered Spinks around the ring for the majority of the contest. “K9” began the fight with constant pressure and never let off the gas in dispatching the former champ. Early in the 5th round, Spinks spun out of a corner and attempted to elude Bundrage, but slipped and and fell thru ropes to the apron. Upon resumption of the round, Bundrage moved forward and began to batter Spinks eventually knocking him down. At the count of nine, Spinks rose to his feet and when Referee Mark Nelson motioned to Spinks to follow him. The referee, not pleased with Spinks’ look, waved his arms, bringing the fight to a somewhat controversial conclusion.

I reckon King will get Spinks a rematch (yawn)

Or maybe Floyd will see Bundrage as an easy night

In all seriousness, this fight would surely not cost as much and would not be as risky as say, Drinzduruk or the winner of Pac-Marg (unfeasible)

The way boxing politics is at the mo', this is the only doable fight for Rhodes IMO, as Cotto Vs Rhodes doesn't make much sense from Arums point of view either.

Rhodes has pretty much hit a purple patch but is essentially in limbo. Shame, I really like him as a fighter, I don't invest any thought into how prominent a strap is, but I feel Rhodes 'deserves' one so he can get closure.

yeh the only way I see it not being Rhodes is if Bundrage has a mando straight away or if Gary Shaw gets him for Angulo.

Bundrage would probably tear right through Rhodes the way he's going. I don't know what's happened with him since the Contender but obviously Steward is doing something right.

Rhodes must be the most mis managed fighter of recent times.

Spending most of his prime at 160. Whether that was Rhodes call or his managements is another matter....

Rhodes has been doing very little now for along time...fighting stiffs and guys that are not on his level at all. At his age and with his ability he should have been pushed far quicker plus the fact the division is wide open would have made him a definate contender...the only good fight he took on was against Moore. Sheffield is a big enough city and has a proud boxing history that the fans would have filled up anywhere to see him get near a world title shot but he is still doing nothing.

Apart from Haye, Froch and Khan he is the only fighter we have ready to box for a world title...this has been a fact for quite some time.

I know boxing is an hard game to negotiate but a series of different promoters have slowed down his career and I hate to say it but ruined his chance of a world title...he could have been bish, bash, bang world title and home for chips and gravy.

I think Rhodes team just want everything to be right to give their man the best chance of success, he's not going to get another chance at it. I don't think Rhodes is young enough or good enough to go rampaging through the division until he gets a title shot, he's got to be a bit picky.

Would be a great fight for Ryan. Far too slick for bundrage and even if he got dragged into a brawl, he showed against moore how he has the heart and strength for that type of battle

    Absolutley spot on...:good

Team Rhodes will only get one chance at this, they have to do it right and I have no doubt that Dave Coldwell will get the right fight, in the right place, at the right time, for the right money...:deal

They should take the next opportunity they get - no matter what money, location etc.

He's nearly 33 and hasn't ever been on anyone's hit list.

Get a fight, win it and make some defences. He's definitely good enough to beat some of the better ''names'' up at 154.

He'd toy with Margarito, for instance.

Would love him in with Cotto :deal
