Witter-Hatton never looked like happening in a million years. Witter had wanted him for years, whilst getting into #2 in the rankings all the while he never got a look in from Hatton.

    Hatton was a chicken.

As daft as it seems, I don't think #1 is entirely beyond him, albeit unlikely - taking into account the fact that we don't really know whether he is on the slide and how he will fare under a new trainer.

The four fights I listed above were just a quick observation - as to what the likely next steps are. Personally, I feel Bradley would be a harder fight than Malignaggi, because in truth, if N'Dou can outfight Paulie in close, then my grandmother could. Bradley seems to have a high workrate and clearly has more power, having decked Witter pretty heavily.

DLH would be a tough fight, IMO a pointless one as other than £££ it is a no win situation for either fighter. I could see Hatton doing a 'Tackie performance' and potshotting, or DLH connecting with repeated left hooks to secure the KO.

Pac/JMM are likely to move up to 140 in search of $$$ - there is plenty to go at within 135 but no real money spinners. Let's face it, whilst both could be considered 'prime' I don't see either fighting on for much longer.

Mayweather was at 147 before Cotto, and he was the lineal champion, p4p no.1.

So if you're criticising Hatton for chasing Floyd you are ****ing nuts, just shows, whatever people do someone will always criticise.

You make some decent points but that bit is just over the top and silly.

Hatton-Cotto was never even close to being made was it?

It was more the assessment of Hatton's phony image i applauded.
    I skimmed the Boxing stuff.

I don't recall Hatton vs Cotto even being talked about.

In hindsight I guess, it would have been better to have had Cotto instead of Maussa - but as Hatton would most likely have beaten Cotto at 140 (obviously not at 147) would Cotto have gone on to achieve what he has achieved in the meantime?

OK, I agree that was OTT.

Although Hatton is nowhere near top 10 P4P. His best win is against Tszyu.... and even then when he was using pretty dirty tactics ....I still think he deserved it. After that win he's done pretty much sweet FA.

Remeber Kosta Tszyu hadn't fought for a long time and was Hatton used border line tactics and got a win. Give him credit.... but after that it's all been downhill. His loss to Mayweather doesw leave him with any credit because other fighters supposedly lower than him in P4P rankings gave Mayweather a much tougher fight.... Hatton was tottally outclassed and made Mayweather (as good as he is) look even better..... Mayweather is no KO artist but Hattons predictability meant Mayweather was catching him clean and made Hatton look silly. Castillo gave Mayweather hell in the first fight and in the 2nd fight it was closer than when Hatton fought Mayweather.

I'm not sure hatton would've beat Cotto at 140... Anyway, I take your point... Hatton fought P4P no.1 and lost...so can't fault him for not fighting anyone else.... however it was the nature of the loss that should alert any fairminded person...that Hattons ability is quite hyped and based solely on a fight with an over the hill legend (Tszyu) who had not fought for over a year and was beaten with dirty tactics....and a fight with Castillo who was a complete shot fighter.

This is an old argument on here, and it was proven to be cheaper. Theres a travel agent on here somethwhere...

You then go on to say he fought a smaller guy in Mayweather then Cotto so you have no respect....

Doyley, and yes he confirmed Vegas is cheaper than NY esp in November (Thanks Giving). Not that I believe that this was the real reason that the fight is being held in vegas....;O)

Couple of things, tszyu retired for a number of reasons none more than because hatton ****ed him up bad. tszyu was good enough that night to beat all but a couple of fighters around that weight.
second, how the **** can you imply hatton took the easy option by fighting floyd mayweather? ridiculous.

No, I don't either, and query it myself - but I don't think it's really worth lynching him for several months later.

It was the first point made anyway, and I replied - once I read the great criticism of Hatton that followed for taking a fight with Floyd Mayweather I gave up on my full reply....

Your making things up he fought just 6 months before, and dispensed of Sharmba Mitchell, quicker then he did just under 4 years or so earlier - and quicker then Floyd Mayweater, and Paul Williams could manage after Tszyu beat him.
