He's going to take a tune up. Fight Malignaggi and then fight Witter. So everyone hold onto your panties when the Hatton Malignaggi fight gets made.
How exactly didn't he "earn the luxury of a `tune up` fight"? When do you "earn the luxury of a `tune up` fight"? Let me answer that last one for you: After a loss, or between big fights, to help set them up. God you people are fickle. A guy loses one fight to the top fighter in the world (a fight that he was doing quite well in and was mostly undone by a size disadvantage) and now everyone wants to pick whatever reason they can to **** on him. You call yourself a Hatton fan. I call you a muppet.
I wouldn't call Hatton a coward (that honour belongs to Calslappy) but he has judged Witter as being too much risk for too little reward for the most part. I don't believe Hatton will take on Witter until Junior starts to show signs of slowing up.
Hatton wants to make as much money with Witter as possible. Witter has a slot on HBo, if he gets one or two fights on american soil team Hatton can market this fight to Britian and America. In the mean time he takes on guys like Malinaggi or Torres, who are legitimate fighters, who he'll make money for fighting and get credit for wins over. Then when the Witter fight is right he'll make that and sell it to both side of the atlantic. In the meantime everyone has got to keep cool and not have hissy fit everytime he's in the news.
The guys been in the ring with Tszu, Castillo and Mayweather. Hes just coming of the back off a big crushing KO. Give the guy a break!
