Three-time heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali spent the second day of his UK tour visiting Ricky Hatton at the British fighter's Manchester gym. The 67-year-old, who is raising money for charity, stood to greet Hatton despite suffering the effects of Parkinson's Disease. "It was very emotional. He raised his hand and was trying to say something," said Hatton. "It really brought a lump to my throat, my eyes were welling up at one point." Hundreds of fans gathered outside the gym in Hyde to see the American who achieved worldwide fame through his politics and wit as well as fights against the likes of George Foreman and Joe Frazier. This content is protected A spokesperson had previously stated that Ali's deteriorating health could make the trip his last to the UK. Hatton, himself a former multiple world title-holder at light-welterweight and welterweight, showed Ali round the gym before exchanging gifts and posing for photographs. Legend Ali visits Hattton's gym "I think he was going to come in a wheelchair initially but then he said 'I can't have Ricky Hatton meet me in a wheelchair, I've got to walk in'," said Hatton. "He's not just one of the greatest boxers of all time, he's one of the greatest men of all time." ------------------------------------------------------------ anyone else feel like throwing up after reading that? and he refers to himself in the 3rd person and implies that he is some big figure in the eyes of Ali.. Laughable. it's embarrasing that he continues to think so much of himself, considering it's not that long ago he got badly exposed again, beat up and knocked spark out by wee Pacman.
Jealousy is a ***** isn't it swetty, not that I'd expect any different. Sounds like a touching story, Hatton clearly respects the guy a lot as anyone should, your ability to find the negative in anything Hatton does is so pathetic mate. Oh and just by the by, I don't like Hatton but I'm not an idiot like you.
Your act is getting tired fella. It's embarrassing that you continue to think that the forum wants to hear to you commentate with extreme prejudice on Hatton's every step and word. Give it a rest.
Sweaty, instead of stalking Hatton why don't you go and catch a nasty STD off of one of your lady boys and die a long, slow and itchy death good
Are you implying that Hatton thinks Ali should be honoured to meet and greet the great Ricky?:yikes I always though Ricky was viewed as a down to earth kind of fella. So what exactly are you trying to say?
"I think he was going to come in a wheelchair initially but then he said 'I can't have Ricky Hatton meet me in a wheelchair, I've got to walk in'," said Hatton. I must say, I think many people are ignoring this little gem because it's Betty that highlighted it! It does seem to be bordering on egotistical and Hatton does appear to be implying that Ali has some reverance for him by struggling to his feet to meet him! What I hated was that Carol Hatton getting some screen time on Sky Sports News last yesterday....who cares what she thinks.
I do have to admit the wheelchair comment about Ali was a tad weird for Hatton to say. Surely that was taken out of context, otherwise, he needs to be knocked the **** out again.
Yep, its quite surprising that most people only tend to skim Bettys posts on Hatton isn't it? How've you been BB? You don't get on here too mcuh these days....
