I know its going to be pretty difficult to find a sparring parter that compares to Mayweather but Rock Allen come on? The guy has had 12 fights and he is a Light Welter, and hes as small as Hatton. Sounds to me like they ant his confidence high. Mayweathers been sparring former world champs for christ sake!

Mayweather wont have any problems backing hatton up. hes stronger then hatton, faster feet and hands, has better defense skills than hatton.

He also sparred Steve Forbes who is a pretty good sparring partner for a fight with Mayweather .

Personally I think Mayweather's use of Baldomir as a sparring partner is very poor . Baldomir is strong and tough and comes forward but lacks all of the explosive qualities of Hatton attacks and imo is every bit as poor as the choice of Rock Allen as a sparring partner .

    Baldomir is nothing like Hatton.

They'd have been better off getting a faster fighter in and telling him to imitate Hatton's style.

Ideally Mayweather should have used Cotto as a sparring partner and Hatton could have used someone like Mosley IMO

surely Cotto and Mosley have better things to do that be sparring partners, especially to guys they may face in the future.
How do you imitate the style of these 2 fighters?

Mosley would probably batter hatton!! Cotto is nobodies sparring partner!

Forbes is a good choice, baldomir isnt bad, really - epspecially if he can be told to increase his workrate and let them go. Quite how much floyd would learn is debatable, but then who does the best learn from?

Realistically though, Hatton is the best at what he does around the weight, by a mile. Mayweather the same. Sparring is sparring. Also, DLH provided hattons sparring partners in the us, and to be fair he knows a **** of a lot more about the game than we (think we) do!

Baldomir was one of five/six sparring partners for Floyd, he was only brought in to imitate Hatton's physical style of fighting. No matter what Floyd says to the media, im sure he isnt under-estimating Hatton one bit and knows exactly what he up against.

    i think he overestimates hatton.

cause if he knows what he is up against, then he would underestimate him.

Rock Allen is an olympian too, isnt he?

"All fighters are sparring partners also." - agreed, but all fighters dont travel to help prepare a rival. Couldnt see Cotto doing it, especially considering it could be his next opponent.

:rofl yeah I know what I said was a bit ******ed but if you want quality sparring partners why not Cotto (big name but still if he agreeed why not) he a come foward all action guy and Oscars helping Hatton so why not Mosley so Hatton can spar someone who fast and agile.
