I remember hearing that Hatton took those losses very hard and went into some sort of a tailspin, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any interviews where he talks about this?

    read his book

Its pretty clear he's an alcoholic in denial. It seems like his life away from the ring is falling to bits.

    Sad really.

Anyone know what actually caused the big split with his parents? Was it a financial dispute?

What I'm curious about is what got him depressed. I just watched some interviews and he said the Pac fight CONTRIBUTED to it, but what got it started? Or was it an accumulation of things?

I think he may have suggested that it was the FMJ fight and that it ****ed with him because he's so proud.

Hatton is a bum and a B-- fighter at best. He's so one dimensional and was lousy at making adjustments. His acumen to learn the sweet science was always poor and questionable. Gifted with some athletic ability he never really learned to actually box on the level of greatness.

Lol how is he simultaneously a bum and a B-- on the world stage of boxing? So anyone below a B+ is a bum?

He wasn't the greatest in the world, but he only lost to the best excluding his ill advised comeback. He won the title and beat some good competition. That's like calling Ken Norton a bum.

While I dont think hatton was the most gifted fighter in the last 10-20 years to say he was a bum and lousy is totally wrong imo.Read his book the calibre of fighters he came up against through the ranks is damn good he avenged a few losses too by making adjustments.

where it went wrong as he says himself is the kostya tszyu performance because it made his overconfident that he could walk through everyone so he became reckless and didnt use his head and by the time he did he was past his prime and it was too late.He had a lot more to him that he gets credit for in his prime he was the number one light welter fighter in the world when the division was pretty good plus he sparred with people like lara and held his own.just imagine if he didnt ruin his body by 28 he would have had a couple more years at the top

Did extremely well, considering his limited skills-much like Froch-except Froch is more grounded and mature.Ricky in life struggles and can't come to the fact that his days as a star is long over.

Honestly think people should get a hatton career box-set. He was a machine in his earlier days. Think the americans got him maybe a couple of years too late. Hatton was a great fighter. Not on the level of pac-man or mayweather or the true elite but outside of that i dont think many would have beat him. Was relentless coming through the ranks. Sure tyson and barrerra were big fans from way back...before he was fighting the tyszu's/mayweathers etc

That fight started the depression. He even admitted recently that he wasn't psychologically into it and was lacking in confidence after that fight. He openly stated that he was worried he would get caught and end up knocked out as he was in the Mayweather fight in his return fight against Lazcano. You can clearly see that Hatton was hurt late in that fight and seemed discouraged.

Not all fighters can handle a first defeat, especially when it's by KO and in the biggest fight of their lives. It's not really easy to handle that with all the expectations, hype, preparation and everything he went through leading up to the Mayweather fight.

Beat the number 1 Light welter in the world, beat decent fighters like Collazo and Malanaggi, caused Mayweather problems for a few rounds
You have never boxed in your life which is the reason why you cant see how good he was,yes he wasnt a great fighter but he was very good at one time..

Hey dickbrain... I box 3x's a week at Mayweather Boxing Club, Barry's Boxing, and L.A. Boxing. Also I train in Muay Thai. So quit stealing the dumb ass lines you read from other people and get your sorry bitchass in the ring or octagon !! Not only that Hatton had one of the best teachers in the world in Floyd Sr. If not the best. And Ricky's ******ed ass couldn't execute and he did exactly what Floyd Sr. told him not to do. And as a result he got his whiskey drinkin ass KO'd!
