From Fightnews: IBO light welter titleholder Ricky Hatton may jettison long time trainer Billy Graham, according to the Manchester Evening News. Hatton's brother Matthew Hatton has recently left Graham and moved to another gym, and 'The Hitman' has been non-committal on who will train him for his November 22 fight with Paulie Malignaggi in Las Vegas. "I will sit down with Matthew and my dad and have a good chat about it," said Hatton. "I will take my time and make a decision, and should be in a position to say something on it in a week or so."
Interesting. I don't see what a change in trainer will do for him with probably 2 more fights before he retires. As for his brother he was always very limited anyway, I hope he isn't blaming Graham for his last defeat where he was just awful.
I don't see how a new trainer can help him at this stage of his career. Who's he going to get, Buddy McGirt?
Maybe its a financial decision? A lot of boxers get to this stage of their careers and the big purses and wonder if they need a guy on a percentage telling them to follow the same regime that they've followed for the last 10 years?
Hattons a ****, Graham is the only person that pushed hatton to the top, the rest of his team were happy with him making WBU defences. Billy Graham is the only guy that beleived in Hatton.
