Did you consider Ronaldo a "true goalscorer" before last season? And why are we talking like he's already on his sun lounger in Madrid, United have been quite firm on this. He ain't exactly ranting and raving about leaving is he? There will be plenty of variety in a Rooney/Ronaldo/Berbatov attack. There is even Saha to throw into the mix, who may leave the treatment room eventually. There is height, pace, somebody that can hold the ball up, they can all score goals. I don't see anything missing.
In Ronaldos position I'd expect him just to say he wanted to stay. He can't even be arsed saying that much...
But he ain't going to be sold unless he says anything either. To me it suggests he's happy to say. You have to kick up a stink if you want to leave with 4 years left on your contract and the club doesn't want to sell. I bet he sits in his Portuguese mansion and rests his injury for a few months, and the whole thing will be blown out of the water.
I don't see anything wrong if Ronaldo stays. I see problems if he doesn't. Ronaldo scored a great amount of goals the season before last, so yes, he was seen as a goalscorer.
So Ronaldo scores 18 goals season before last and is considered a goalscorer, yet Berbatov with 15 last season isn't? That's 3 less, playing for that shower of shite. It's not hard to imagine him scoring many more at United.
You've got to be joking? It's all over the global TV and papers and him saying nothing means he wants to stay??? Come on, be realistic. He may go or he may stay but be under no illusion, he WANTS to go....
It's bound to be all over the papers, he's the best player in the world, its inevitable and means nothing in itself. We get this **** every year with one player or another, it was Gerrard a few seasons ago. He might want to go, but he's always wanted to go to sunny Spain. It's been his "dream" the whole time. As it stands he ain't exactly forcing United to sell, and unless he suddenly kicks into action he won't go. My bet he stays in Portugal resting his ankle and the whole thing dies down.
How do you know Ronaldo or his agent are doing behind the scenes? They'll be allsorts of plotting going on, Ronaldo keeping quiet should tell you that much at least. He's had reporters pestering him for last month about the Madrid move and all he's got to do to stop it is to say he's got 4 years on his contract and he's happy at ManU but he won't do it? Look at what happened when Chelsea started sniffing around Torres....Liverpool said he wasn't for sale, the player said publicly he wanted to stay and that was the end of the matter.
But I already know Ronaldo wants to go, he's hinted at, the sort of hint which suggests he realises he ain't getting past Stockport. This is what keeps the journos clinging on and filling column space. As the man himself said, "its a dream for me, but dreams don't always come true"
These days if a player wants to go, he goes. Despite Fergies blustering threats, not even ManU can afford to leave £80mil rotting in the stands while his contract runs down.
Yeah, but thats the mistake you are making. Ronaldo has never made any comment to suggest he won't play for United, simply that he'd like to go Madrid. The quotes have been pretty feeble, its hardly "let me go or I'll score on own goal" Gallas type stuff. Havn't heard anything out of Ronaldo for a week or so. He's resting the injury. Tick-tock, Tick-tock...
And the mistake you are making is taking his silence as a positive thing, its not. If he says he won't play for United then he's in breach of contract etc, he's playing it smart (his "slave" comments aside) while the plotting goes on behind the scenes, otherwise he'd just say he's happy at United (unless his ankle injury has affected his speech?) and end the matter.
Silence is a positive thing. Because if it stays this way he ain't ****ing going anywhere Tick-tock, tick-tock...
Ronaldo plays everywhere Besides the point. A goalscorer is a goalscorer. There must be some arbitrary figure I'm missing between 15 and 18 that consitutes being a true goalscorer.
