Having watched studied loads of Pac's fights last night Iam more convinced than ever this is a fight Ricky can win and win by stoppage too.The difference in speed in only small and from what Ive seen Manny has fought no one who can cut a ring off like Hatton can,now don't get me wrong this is going to be a very tough fight for both fighters but provided Ricky does not get cut I think he will hurt Manny and stop him somewhere between the 6th and 8th rounds. Oh one concern of mine is regarding Hatton is him over training,Ive seen fighters change the training routine or begin camp earlier than they ever have before and sometimes this has resulted in them overtraining.
The southpaw style is a worry for me but hopefully Hatton is training for it. I read somewhere he's sparing with Lara which is a good move IMHO.
Cut off the ring?! Are you serious? Hatton walks forwards in straight lines and is ridiculously easy to counter and you think he cuts off the ring?
I know, he's rubbish isn't he..... Lucky he landed that lucky punch against Tommy Peacock or ....atsch
You have to admire Hatton, for a one dimensional, face first, cut prone fighter with no boxing skills, poor footwork and a questionable chin he hasn't done too bad has he?
oh stop hatingatsch hatton's ring generalship is the one thing people can never criticise, he cuts the ring off supremely well.
Scurla's hate for Hatton (and Calzaghe to a lesser extent) knows no bounds! I think this one goes the distance actually.... similar type of fight to Pacquiao vs Morales I - just not decided who the winner is yet.
:yep you beat me to it, was just thinking the fight could go exactly the same as this, if hatton can move in under pac's jab and counter jab to the body the pacman will be fighting moving backwards, instead of moving around and at close quarters which nullifies pacs greatest advantage his body speed his hand speed is exceptional but its his overall body speed which people cant deal with. darting in and out and around whilst throwing combo's bamboozles people, thats why hes got those mutant calves. hatton jabs to the body and steps to his left and throws the left hook to the body and head whilst pacmans coming in flurrying and this fight could go alot different to how everyone in america seems to think
Nope, it's not happening. My man hasn't stopped anyone since Castillo. Hatton's going to be in a dilemma: does he try the new Mayweather Sr. approach that he tried to display against Malignaggi (failing to stop him) or does he go back to his original style, which is almost natural to him at this stage of his career? How long does he stick with one approach or the other? There's a risk that he's caught up between both and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Pacman isn't going to give him space or time. If Hatton wants to go for the stoppage, he's going to have to risk exposure, and I don't know how confident he is of exposing himself after the check hook and Lazcano's left hook that wobbled him. Outboxing the Pacman is not an option, so he's going to have to get inside, but it's easier said than done: the Pacman doesn't usually let you in. I see this as a UD for Pacman because he's going to keep Hatton at a distance and keep peppering him enough to take most rounds. Hatton's a hard man so I don't see him being stopped (although a spectacular performance from Pacquiao could do it). The slim chance I DO see for Hatton lies in a well executed bodyshot, like he did against Castillo. He can lose round after round, but if he manages a devastating liver shot the way he did in Vegas two years ago, then it's all over. But the Pacman's going to be expecting it, and will catch Ricky with a sharp left before he gets there, after which I'm not sure Hatton's going to dare to try again. Let's put it this way: -80% chance Pacman UD -10% chance Pacman KO -10% chance Hatton KO
If Hatton can cut off the ring and force Mayweather to the ropes then imo he will be able to do it to Manny. I think Manny has advantages in handpeed but asfar as foot speed go then there is little difference and people consistantly undermine Hattons speed, and the same people who do are those who championed that C Grade world champion, whos speed WAS overated.....whats his name:think..... ah thats it Junior Witter:verysad Hatton in 8
