In his post fight interview he stated that he was trying to get rid of alot of the elements that composed the old ricky hatton. floyd is def trying to get him to fight a little more versatile. do you think he can adapt well to this style or is he just a flat out slugger? also is it me or did keep on leaning in ALOT in this fight? Malignaggi didnt have the power or even the quickness to expose that but im sure some one else will.

I saw a Hatton that would actually get knocked out faster. He didnt clinch like usual but i think its because he realized PM could not hurt him. However if he fights like that with anyone with decent power he would get KTFO. He has alot of holes in his defense. I wanna see him face someone who can crack like Torres or even Holt. Myabe an Urango rematch would be good.

Actually my man JMM should move up and fight him. I see JMM using his sharp punching to pick Hatton apart and stopping him late.

Hatton was very fast against PM, but that speed is going to fade as he fights on and if he can incorporate more head-movement, good footwork and jabs, he is going to have more success in elongating his career if he chooses to do so.

it was a poor showing from hatton against urango (apparently he had been ill leading upto the fight), and yet he still won 10 rounds, hatton's was much quicker footspeed and hands, they're in a different class. i think he beats holt and torres comfortably too.

i imagine you picked paulie to beat hatton too didn't you?

I didn't see any head movement, but it's early days-only a few weeks with Mayweather. He was, on the other hand and as he said himself, more patient. Looking at Hatton objectively, I think his worst trait is getting too fired up and too rough and thereby smothering his own work. He wasn't doing that, he did box more like he used to on his way up the other night and that's a good thing. It'll be interesting to see what happens as time goes on with Mayweather, he was asking for head movement between rounds but Hatton wasn't really remembering to do it. they should go straight back into the gym and keep working on what they're working on but more likely Hatton will go to the pub instead and won't see a gym until 6-7 weeks before his next fight.

I thought he showed subtle improvement. I thought he moved his head much more with subtle feints, but still not enough. What was interesting however was his inside game, as when PM came in to grab Hatton would often use the Mayweather family trick off putting th forearm accross the throat. Considering how bad he's looked and still won it shows promise!

ironically it is the old hatton he is going back to, the pre-tszyu one. check his domination of ray oliveira out, very simlar style to the one we saw on saturday

It's not so much like he's throwing out his entire 'old style', bit drastic, more he wants to get rid of or improve the elements he doesn't think match up.
