Ricky is done! He knows the spark, the hunger, "the itch" as he calls it, is not there anymore. And if it is, its nowhere to the degree it once was!

Ricky has been very successful & he has his faculties about him. He can now concentrate of Promoting!

He only lost to the very best available & there is no shame in losing to Floyd & Pacman!

If his loss to PacMan was not so brutal he probably have fought already, but that was a heavy one take for any fighter. The only I can think is Duran after Hearns, but Duran took care of himself.

All in all, Hatton has had a top career. His style relies strongly on punch resistance, like a battering ram, once thats gone there is no point.

Good on him, I hope he is happy. He took his ability beyond it's limit and always gave his all in the ring, that's what got him so far and that's why he has so many fans. A proper fighter.

How does a fanbase beat Kostya Tszyu + 4 other champs?

Think he has the potential to be even more successful as a promoter than he was as a boxer.

Come on now. Hatton was never a great TECHNICAL fighter or an ELITE fighter. Hatton did however have a great work ethic and solid natural gifts that allowed him to be a great fighter.

The man is hanging them up. Give him his due. :good

I dont want to ever see him again in a ring with gloves on for his own safety. Was a massive Hatton fan but its simply time. Glad he's finally come out and said it

I heard Hopkins say on Friday Night Fights that Boxers don't retire from the ring, the ring retires the fighter. After getting knocked out cold the way he did by Pacquiao he shouldn't fight anymore. And he doesn't need the money.
