But look, he had the entire fight at his own pace and wasn't hit with a shot worth a **** because all Malignaggi's shots are powder puffs. That is the key difference between the two fights. How much of it is down to the new training...who knows? I'd wait until you see him in his next fight and he's tested before declaring the new training has cured his stamina. It could simply be that Lazcano actually hit him, and was a stronger more testing guy for Hatton.
You don't think it was maybe something that Bardley was doing that may have made Witter look so bad do you?:think
To an extent yes, I think. But Witter is so damn inconsistent that it may not have been. I am not at all comfortable picking against a guy like Hatton who has been around at the top of a divison for years on a guy who has only stepped up once, against an inconsistant guy.
Hatton has faced bigger power than Bradley possesses so it's not like Hatton is untested in that department, and don't even say Bradley hits like Tzyu or you'll look like a fool.
I don't like Witter at all, but you have to wonder if he went into that fight with the right frame of mind, I mean boxing must have been the last thing he wanted to do at that point.
Hatton will never fight Bradley. Bradley is too skilled and doesn't bring in enought money. Hatton's resume at 140 is shallow considering how much talent was in the division a few years ago. At one point, Hatton, Mayweather, Cotto, and Maussa were all beltholders at 140. Guess which one Hatton decided to unify against? The 3 most talented fighters that Hatton fought were Tszyu, Mayweather and Collazo(Castillo was washed up). He dominated Tszyu, struggled against Collazo and was dominated by Mayweather. I put Bradley on a similar level to Collazo. No way Hatton makes the same mistake that he made when he took on Collazo. Bradley vs. Hatton will never happen.
It doesn't. But it at the least shows that Bradley is not some completely unproven guy like he's made out. He beat one of the top 5 fighters in the division by anybodys ranking and did it convincingly enough. I tend to agree Witter didn't perform at his best, but its massively difficult to find the line between how bad Witter performed and how well Bradley did. Witter was widely considered to be in the best form of his career coming into it, we can't take anything away from it.
Ok totally leave out the fact that Tzyu and Maywhether both destroy anything Bradley has faced. And Collazo was a ww
That's completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that Hatton has, for the most part, only looked good against average fighters. He's also not as fast as Bradley, and his defense isn't as solid. That's a fair trade off.
Mayweather doesn't hit like Tszyu and he still hurt Ricky worse than Ricky has ever been hurt. Hurting a fighter many times has to do with speed, timing, and accuracy.
If fighters who have world titles are average then **** me.. what is Bradley been facing.. Jesus. Of course Witter aside, who I've never rated, convieniant huh.
So Hatton was automatically ducking them? Cotto had a mando Mayweather could have been made, but Hatton would have got peanuts! In anycase, it happened two years later.
Bradley hasn't faced great opposition, but he hasn't struggled in his fights either. The good fighters Ricky has fought , he struggled against(except Tszyu). Urango had a belt, but it was a paper title that he won via a very controversial decision. Paulie won his title by beating a guy that was awarded the belt without beating anyone. Maybe average was the wrong word, but guys like Paulie and Urango are B level. Maussa is not that good either, I'm sure you would agree with that.
Maussa wasn't that good, but Hatton beat him as impressively as Cotto did. Don't forget that Maussa will have been confident having stopped Vivian Harris in his previous fight......
