Ben, sorry mate dont think that they hate each other or anything just believe each have little 'niggles' at the back of their minds about the other. On another note, Calzaghe has no personality so has no place winning such awards. The way it is recieved nowadays is based purely on success which is fair enough but it lacked taste a bit in my opinion getting Hatton to present it after just having his world tore apart.
The thing is though he was right, a win over tszyu was better than an overhyped Lacy i see your point though, thats the kind of comment Khan would get slated to high hell for saying
Well I reckon Calzaghe's niggles went away after the Lacy victory.... Hatton however probably has them now more than ever. What do you mean when you say Calzaghe don't have much personality? You mean he isn't very loud or witty? or you don't think he has much fighting spirit in him?
Oh yeah, Lacy was more over hyped than any fighter I can think of in recent years.... but look who's resume is better now? Your also very right about Khan. So much of what Ricky says just gets brushed under the carpet.... what with team Hatton around him all the time, like his old man being pissed at Warren when Hatton was WBU champion for saying Calzaghe is currently his best fighter.... it's like he lives in a some protective bubble.... but when Khan says he will become a world champion it makes him the second coming of Sugar Ray Clay Jones jr.!!! Double standards I think.
No Ben, when I say I believe Calzaghe has no personality I mean... HE HAS NO PERSONALITY. He is boring and tiresome. Have you seen the Wii advert? Not slagging the man off he is just boring
Na, mate, I was agreeing with you- that's why I posted the vid:good. I think JC is just one of those guys who has never liked being infront of the cameras or in the limelight and his decision to stay at home for all but two fights while he was 'head of the bill material' adds even more weight to that arguement.
Sorry pal, at work and there's loads of filters on the comps. Didn't see the vid. Nah pal staying at home for his fights was because if he flew anywhere he'd have had to have fought fighters closer to their prime
:bloodThat opinion could get you shot down by some but I agree with to an extent. No doubt he did go out of his way to hold on to and protect his 'o' for as long as he could:good. It's well documented that he is a shy boy, though. Boxing probably isn't the best sport to choose if you like kicking back with slippers on infront of a Welsh fireplace playing the Wii.
I don't think either of them are going to be a success in the promoting game especially in the current economic climate. With regards to their personalities who really gives a ****? One is an complete extrovert who loves all the publicity and the limelight while the other is a total introvert and is happiest in familiar surroundings with his family, too very different personalities. Both extremes of the personalities can be annoying though.
Calzaghe probably is a bit boring seeing as though he is in a sport that has produced some of the biggest, most extravegant, famous and loudest celebrities the world has known in the last century..... but I won't hold it against him though.
