I really can't see it somehow. The main reason being that Khan is not one tenth of the fighter Pacquiao is. His power would have to increase substantially and I can't remember too many fighters whose power has effectively increased when they go up in weight against bigger fighters. Khan has not shown great power even at domestic level lightweight. He is not faster than Pac and in addition he does not have the power, the physcial strength, the chin, the workrate or the variety. His movement is OK, but he tends to have his chin up in the air and his combinations are basic. IMO he would have to improve in every aspect to beat Hatton, or Hatton would have to decline significantly.

The referee may be a factor, however, I don't see Hatton wanting to hold on to Khan, I think if he gets inside he'll be wanting to unleash those punches. No fighter has ever outboxed Hatton from the outside for a full fight and nor has Khan outboxed anyone more substantial than St Clair.
I beg to differ, Khan is faster than Manny(Dr.Roach who trains both said Khan is faster, and R.Holloway both Manny and Khan's sparring partner said Khan's the fastest) but not as accurate or has the timing of Manny. Hatton is in decline otherwise Khan and Co will not be thinking about this fight. Khan might not have the power of Manny but at 140 might have enough power to put a 3 or 4 hit combo and hurt a fadded Hatton, even put him down. You dont need to out box Hatton for the full 12, if you got the speed and movement to trouble him like Manny who finished the job in 2 rounds, Khan could do it in 5 or 6 as Hatton has no defence and is willing to take shots coming in. But even a kind of shot Hatton can beat Khan which I do not rule out, Hatton can KO Khan in the 1st round who knows.

Man you guys need to stop nuthugging the **** out of Khan because this **** is going to end in disaster. Hatton would have KO'd him in a round at his prime and theres a very good chance he could still beat him.

Nobody has beaten Hatton without taking a good lump or two, even the two best in the world.

True, Its still a hard fight to call, as I said Hatton can not be ruled out even at this stage of his career, I still give it a 60-40 fight for Khan.

Hatton still stops Amir. It all depends on how much khan has improved at 140. I'd still favour ricky hatton over many of the beltholders at 140. People should note that hatton was beaten by Pacquiao arguably the best fighter in a generation.

Hatton would beat Khan if they fought now.

i will find it quite ironic that if khan get a dominate win over kotelnik and if khan hatton gets signed....

ricky would probably come in as a 2-1 or 3-1 underdog....i find that humorous in some ways....

i see hatton winning on points, he made floyd mayweather beat him on the inside, and got in on manny before manny deliever "the punch".....hatton would make khan fight inside, and i could see khan flustered and throws roach's gameplan out the window....hatton wins on points......old ricky would KO khan in 4.....

If this fight gets made and Hatton is anything but the favourite I will be spending a lot of money on betting Ricky to win (and I'm a fan of Amir Khan), to me Khan is a bit of an enigma right now. How much has he improved since going with Roach? Will his chin be any sturdier now they've basically rebuilt the guy? If not, can he use his new found technique to make sure he doesn't get hit? Can Khan keep up the pace and style needed that he has learnt for 12 rounds? Is he world class or just a very good EU fighter? All these questions need to be answered before we can come to a proper conclusion on Khan/Hatton imo.

I am routing for Khan to answer all those questions positively but would not be surprised in the slightest to see him come up short against some of the top guys in the 140 division. I even think a diminished Hatton would be a stylistic nightmare for Khan and if he managed to come through that I would become a fully fledged Khan nut hugger (I support fighters I like, sue me) .
