Firstly, well done to Hatton and unlucky to Paulie, thats about as positive as you can get for either fight.

This was a depressing fight for boxing, one which left me disgruntled as to why i bought into it so much. Ian Darke and more so Jim Watt forced me to watch the fight on mute after 4 rounds. They were going on about Hattons best performance and how he was outboxing , brilliant jabbing (Hatton wouldnt know how to throw a job for god sake)etc, yet you could hear a pindrop in the MGM there was that little going on.

After the first round it looked like Hatton would be made work hard for the win. Near the end of the 2nd Paulie was hurt and it was downhill from there for him.
In the next 4 rounds literally and i mean literally nothing happened...

Throughout this fight Paulie was throwing single shots, very few right hands and no combos. To his credit he was more accurate than Hatton but there was no power in the shots. He was very messy, ducking down and holding. His workrate along with his lack of power shows that he is not an elite fighter.

Now to Hatton, well what can you say. It was uninspiring at best. He looked confused wether to box or fight, did neither well but both enough. Hatton landed the more telling shots throughout the fight but was so open to left hooks, right straights and his defense was so bad that against anyone who has a punch he is in serious trouble

A fight that promise so much, delivered so little. I was wrong about Paulie, he real isnt good enough to school even Hatton. And Hatton showed me nothing new, no better defensive skills and messy attacking. I had the fighter 6-3 and 1 even after 10 rounds, in favour of Hatton.
To make matters worse or better however you look at it Buddy throws in the towel and at that moment you see shock on both fighters faces.
    :patsch
Brian Vera must have being laughing backstage.....

Now lets hear the Hatton fans tell me something different and il **** me pants, but that was a bad fight for both fighters and it leaves serious questions as to whether either are world level fighters. Both talk the talk, look the part.

Paulie will now have a job on his hands to clean up light-welterweight, he didnt look like a unified champ in the making tonight nor in the last while
Hatton is finished imo also, its either step up to 147 at get a hiding be Williams, Margo, Cotto and many more or fight De La Hoya for a huge money spinning farce, going down that route would be him finished as a real fighter in my eyes. Either step up to 147 and fight the lads you should be in against or go out on that high.....

I got rode up the hole for paying €20 for that:lol:

    Ah well, could be worse...:good

I'd just like to know what you'd seen in Paulie before this fight that led you to believe he could beat even a below par Hatton?

Its a decent win for Hatton but Paulie was vastly overated from the start.

Paulie had no chance whatsoever and that's why i never ordered this fight.

Anyone who thought Paulie had a chance is mad.

Thats why many of us were calling him maligfaggot and laughing at Hatton continuously calling maliggfaggot the no.2 and playing on that every media opportunity he got.

Everyone knew hatton would beat the ****** man. Magic man my arse, the only magic he ever does is that his cheek doubles in size after a few shots.

Thats how i have seen it.

It was as though because Malignaggi could talk the talk he must be as good as he says.

    Well done Ricky.

I thought Hatton could lose - due to the fact that he was looking shyte in his last fight, i thought he'd only 1 or 2 fights left in min before the PBF fight, new trainer could confuse things...I also thought the new trainer was in place cos Hatton knew he couldn't sustain his style for 12 rounds and also a bit of me thought 'a change is as good as a rest' psyche may have set in and his heart was no longer in it perhaps.
There were many factors for me that left me thinking Hatton could mess up .
I never really thought Paulie was the man to beat Hatton - more that Hatton could lose the fight for the reasons i listed above.

    Glad he won though.

Healy - i don't think Hatton has to fight at 147 to prove anything - he's a 140 fighter and unbeaten at that weight...He should fight Witter now imo.

Healy, you sound like you never watched Paulie before, to be honest.

He often throws single shots and ties up a lot, he fights just as he did last night, unless his opposition are poor and let him dictate.

It was always going to be scrappy.

But nobody has overpowered Paulie like Hatton did. Nobody. Cotto walloped him but he didn't overpower him like Hatton.

How you can claim it puts Hatton's status as a world level fighter in doubt is a mystery. Makes no sense. Look at the rankings, he's no.1 by a country mile. That is, by definition, world class.

Having Hatton winning just 6 of the 10 rounds pretty much says it all.

You'll hate it of course, and wonder why everyone else seems to be an idiot...but really the person with the blinkers on is yourself.

Infuriating no doubt, but that's the truth.

    6-3 and 1 even?
How the feck did you come up with that score exactly?
Hatton took every round apart from the first.
