He may be able to outbox Torres, who is a one-dimensional slugger.

Kendall Holt is pretty ordinary (IMO) and it would be 50-50.

Fair comment. What i was getting at was, there is fighters that would beat malagnaggi at 140 present imo. And theres more than 5 i'd give a 50/50 chance to beat pm.

Not sure - I simply think Hatton disarmed him and showed him up for what he really is.

    An ordinary fighter.

Can any of the others do that effectively?

    Not sure

If the ref had bothered to do something about the ridiculous duck and hold tactics Paulie used for the entirety of the context, then the fight would not have made it into the later rounds. How can you knock a guy out when he spends more than half the fight locking himself into your armpit and holding on for dear life???

The referee was pretty poor in my opinion and ruined the fight as a spectacle by failing to act.

For those talking about Hatton-Witter, give it a rest. Witter is another big mouth with no A-game, just like Malignaggi although at least Witter can bang a bit. But with names like Cotto, Pacquiao, and De La Hoya and even the winner of the Margarito/Mosley fight, exactly what reason other than Witter's ego is there for Hatton to take him on?

I felt Bayless was OK to be honest - it wasn't the easiest fight to referee. ***gi knew what he could get away with and how often.

Everybody said hatton was like the wrestler leading up to the fight and it was paulie who was holding. If he hadn't held hatton it could have been over in round five or 6.

Witter ? No your right, not anymore. But there were plenty of reasons before bradley ud'd him.It bores me as much as the next man,but why would'nt you want to fight someone who holds a major belt if not the best belt, and is from your country, who pisses u off AND your confident you can beat him and your fans/boxing would love you to shut him up ????????????????????????Because you dont want to give him a payday??? Well he wanted it bad enough that he'd fight hatton for training expenses only. Hatton nuthuggers cant fathom this out though. The night witter fought harris, i'd of put him in with anyone bar mayweather and expected him to win, that was his A game, and he was switched on up against it, he looked great. If they were both mexicans hatton would be crucified by his very own for this...............:think

The obvious parts to disagree with are that Witter would have fought Hatton for training expenses. That type of offer, along with "winner take all" fights, are for publicity only and never, ever come off and also that Witters showing against Harris means he would have beaten anyone in the world but Mayweather....Harris was a half decent belt holder and Witter fought well but lets not carried away.

Witters had a decent career and he can be proud of the fact that he made it to number 2 in the world at 140 for a few months.

I thought it was the trainer who decided to stop the fight but according to Ring it was the promoter who ordered it...

"Malignaggi’s promoter decided his fighter had taken enough punishment and ordered trainer Buddy McGirt to stop the fight in the 11th. Malignaggi was upset, which is understandable; he’s a proud guy. However, DiBella, who obviously cares about Malignaggi, knew there was no point in continuing the fight."

Publicity reasons ???Dissagree, not every fighters the same. Take for instance boxing tournaments like hattons ppv undercard.Winner takes all, do they not ? Why, because their taking a risk to improve their profiles, taking a chance.Theres plenty of cases over the years.Answer me this gazoc, did you agree with the hatton should've fought witter part of my thread and there being no excuse why it never happened ???????

In answer to your question, Witter-Hatton would have been a great fight during Hattons WBU days when he was clearly stagnating, but after the Zoo Hatton was filling casinos in Vegas while Witter was half filling Doncaster Ice Rink. As a Hatton 'fan' I'd have liked to see the fight 2004-2005, after that I could take it or leave it TBH.

Heres a question for you, seeing as theres "plenty of cases over the years" but you forgot to name any, what was the last world title fight where one of the contestants fought for training expenses or winner takes all? Its just a non too subtle publicity stunt to get a challenge in the papers to try and goad a champion into a fight. Witter wasn't the first to try that tactic and he won't be the last but its always been a bull**** offer. People who believe those offers are genuine are either very niave or just pretend they are credible because it suits the point they are trying make.

Did Junior not come out with that when the Floyd fight was as good as sealed?

You are VERY naive if you believe that Brummy, I'm afraid to say

Methinks you were caught between a rock & a hard place there healy, & you did what had to be done to defuse a potential 'situation'

Instead of just telling it like you see it, & **** whoever disagrees.
