I know it's a while away yet but I was wondering what your thoughts were on this fight. And with the imminent announcement of Hatton and Graham splitting how much of an affect would this have on the 'Hitman's' preparation. I personally think that if Hatton trains well (without illnesses or any interruptions) then he wins this fight. But I reckon he'll only win the fight if he jumps on his guy. If he lets Malignaggi get into his stride it'll frustrate the hell out of him. And when Hatton gets frustrated he gets reckless. I'm not saying that he'll walk into bombs but he'll make the same old mistakes. But that wont happen if he mauls this guy early doors and finish him inside 8. Another thing I'm not convinced about is how well Malginaggi will handle the occasion. I know he fought Cotto at the garden and he talks about fighting in hell that night but with the fans that Hatton will bring and the media attention that this fight will get (much more than the Cotto fight) I think Paulie might not hand it to well. If Hatton smells nerves early doors I reckon it could be over even earlier than 8. Hope he wins because I wanna see Hatton v Pacquaio!
I can see Hatton being on form for that fight. I'm pretty sure that nerves messed him up for Lazcano, and now he has got that out of the way and is back in the states (he digs the limelight) he can put on a good show. He'll win, but it won't be as devastating as it would've been pre-Floyd. He'll be a bit wary of Paulie trying to suck him in and picking him off/going for the points win - that surely can be his only strategy.
I think he'll be on form that night as well. Like I say I think the aggression will be bubbling from the first bell and for 6 rounds he can fight like a whirlwind throwing punches to every piece of your anatomy. That'll be too much for PM, he's slick but not that slick.
EAsier said than done i know but against Paulie all Hatton has to do in fight on the inside ie close the gap. All paulie has is a decent jab and decent movement. He is no mayweather he can be hit and often. Im hoping Hatton finds a Castillo shot and folds paulie over impressivly but if not i can see him grinding paulie down. Lovemore N'dou was casuing paulie issues and Hatton is better in every area than him. Hatton (blinkers firmly on) by KO about RD9 More probably a solid ud afer ruffing paulie up in the mid to late rounds
This is the next Hatton fight I wanted to see, actually-and I see Ricky gettin' juked n' jabbed through the greater part or it.
He's getting a lot of criticism at the moment for his style, but if he carries on with the style that has served him well up till now, he should beats Paulie, IMO. If he tries something new this late in his career he could possibly find he comes unstuck, as it's all wrong for him.
Hatton will whoop this ridicolous overrated bum inside 8 rounds. I'm sick of him getting credit for getting beat up by Cotto.
well hatton to me is in decline.ofcourse the hatton that beat tsyzu would walk paulie down and stop him,but at this stage i honestly see paulie frustrating him and sneaking it over the distance.
Agreed, where this fella gets his big reputation from I'll never know, maybe it's his brash ways that make him stand out more but he's nothing special at all. He's best known for getting his face re-arranged by a drained Miguel Cotto which says it all really. He was pitiful in his last fight and didn't deserve the decision before that against Ngoudjo either.
At first I thought Malignaggi would be a really hard matchup for Hatton and if he was still lacking in confidence he might struggle to win it. But if Ricky is allowed to do what he does, then it should be pretty onesided I reckon. I think he will learn pretty qucikly not to engage Paulie to much on the outside, bring it to the inside and maul away. Any fighter is entitled to an occasional bad performance but Paulie has looked a lot less slicker since the Cotto fight, and really has no plan B when things get a bit tough. He is certainly is no metrosexual ***** though, he can take pain and a punch. Either way Ricky will win this one but the ref could make it a closer fight if he doesnt let Hatton get away with his tactics.
Well im a big Paulie fan so i gotta take the crucifiction for saying this i think he has a better chance than most people think i mean i always see hatton struggle when he is in there with slick boxers Collazo, mayweather so im hoping paulie can pull his act together for one damn night and beat the hitman
