with the exception of the collazo fight which was close, hatton has lost about 8 rounds in total since fighting koysta and that includes his loss against mayweather. so with regards to your comment "repeatedly gets made to look amateurish by fighters like Lac%%zo", who are these fighters you're on about. hatton isn't a defensive genius like pbf he makes up for that in other areas, and so he gets hit quite a bit, so what. he gets the win which at the end of the day is all that matters.
The thing I worry most about is if Hattons heart is still in the game. Does he still have the fire to drive him on - like he had when he was younger.
Oh come on. Anyone would assume from this comment that you think getting knocked down in the first or second constitutes a victory overall. What the **** did you say that for? Do you even think about the way you're about to be percieved before you toss assinine statements like that? Oh thankyou you for that masterful boxing analysis. 'pop'. I see. The old x factor, 'pop'. Oh btw what the **** do you mean by 'pop'? Do you mean power? Because Floyd obviously isn't regarded for his 'pop', but still managed to knock vicky out cold. You know less about boxing than the average three year old. Look, the fact that Ricky wouldn't have a chance in hell in going 12 with Cotto and Paulie did is no reason to belittle the guys efforts.
he won every round against maussa he won every round against urango he won every round against castillo he lost 6 rounds against mayweather he lost 2 rounds against lazcanzo that's 8 rounds maybe my memory isn't so great and i have a round or two wrong, but please tell me where if what i am saying is so irrational? he may not have looked his best since koysta but he's still kept winning the rounds and fights.
i would favour hatton to beat cotto at 140. hatton is just as much of a monster as cotto at 140. the only time hatton hasn't gone the distance is when he's won or against the best boxer in the world at a higher weight. so what makes you so convinced a weight drained cotto would stop him. hatton made koysta quit who was a much more difficult prsopect than cotto at 140.
hatton by points..although it is a hard pick, hatton look really **** in his last fight, if the hatton of old returns i favor him to win by close ud
Well ALL of those statements are questionable. I can't remember the specifics and can't be bothered doing the research so I'll let you off on this one. But anyway, since your taking away the Colazo fight - a fight that many think he lost - what makes you think that 'lost 8 rounds in 4 fight discounting a fight that he nearly got knocked out in' is impressive? These fights shouldn't have even gone that many rounds.
It's not the best the best matchup to make atm because Cotto is no longer a 140 pounder and, yes, would suffer a lot making that weight. But the cotto that used to fight at 140 would pound any version hatton into the ground. Hatton was a bad matchup for Tszyu. A 36yo who's founght 5 rounds in 3 years, has trouble with infighters, histroical endurance problems, and fighting under a ref that was happy to let them wrestle two minutes of every round certainly is going to struggle against Hatton. To me, it's really surprising that Tszyu did as well as he did. ^^ This is why many would like to see Hatton vindicate himself with some more credible wins before we acknowledge that he is what he is said to be. Thus far, he 'hasn't done this.
In reply to the past few posts...... Hatton won six of eight against Maussa (dunno about cards) Hatton won seven of twelve against Collazo (but was nearly taken out) Hatton won ten of twelve against Urango (judges said 11) Hatton won two of three against Castillo (with the third even) Hatton won two of nine against Mayweather (with one even) Hatton won ten of twelve against Lazcano (on a par with cards) He has lost a lot more than 8 rounds! Cotto was always struggling to make 140, and would have been starched by Hatton from 2004 onwards for this very reason - at 147 the outcome would have been the opposite, though for different reasons clearly. 36 year old Tszyu who had fought five rounds in two and half years due to injuries and starching Mitchell much better than anyone else had managed to do, six months prior to Hatton - admittedly a bad style match up, but lets not forget the odds against Ricky were atrocious.
