Yes, it did about that in the UK.

Utterly staggering number; Oscar - Floyd is the only fight ever to do more than 2 million in the states, so proportionally (in terms of population/buys), it's miles bigger than any American fight EVER.

I don't know what money Hatton made from that fight but it has to be massive, utterly massive.

Hattons following is insane. Hes got most of them eating out of his hand and they buy into whatever bs he says.

Nonetheless can you imagine the PPV numbers for Hatton vs DLH? Uks biggest PPV draw vs Americas PPV king.

IIRC Hatton took a smaller guarantee in exchange for a share of the UK PPV sales.

I know, I'd much rather Sky had kept all the PPV money.

1.4m, are you sure? That seems way over the top to me. That means that approx 7% of households in the UK bought the fight

If they had taken that money they would have knocked £5 off yours and everybody elses bill.

    Thank Ricky Hatton for that.

Thanks for the concern but I don't pay for PPV boxing, I have an internet connection and a lead that connects my laptop to my TV. I'm not convinced Hatton taking less money would made Sky drop the price of the PPV though, maybe they'd have just kept all the money themselves???:huh

Nope, I see them as a charitable organization from what I've read in the UK papers.

I'm sure that with the proceeds of the PPV revenue they would have cut the price of the ordinary Sky bill for millions of people.

Hatton wasn't thinking of the fans, much like when he decided to make this fight in Vegas unlike the considerate Calzaghe.
