I've not really got the time to read all the debates regarding this proposed fight and if this has been discussed then I apologise.

Even though I think this is a very winnable fight for Hatton does anyone else think that Pacquaio's southpaw style will be a nightmare for Hatton? He's had trouble in the past with southpaws and unless Floyd Snr can get round that surely that will be a telling factor.

7th round? That's a bold statement. Don't get me wrong I think Hatton can win this fight but I'm stepping back from any prediction until fight week. I'm already counting the days, months...

It's a good point. Hatton has always struggled with southpaws. they can make him look amateurish, even when he's on top of his game. however, I like Pac's style for Hatton, though the Asian is far more adaptable than he's given credit for.

    it''l be a great fight.

    My hopes for Hatton are:

win this; fight Bradley; rematch with a slightly faded, inactive PBF allowing Hatton to restore some dignity with maybe a draw.

i see it as a 50/50 fight although im favouring hatton,i think the southpaw stance will cause ricky problems especially in the first 4 rounds, but i also think hatton's style will cause manny trouble too.

Hatton wont win this. Hatton historically has always had problem with southpaws. Espcially southpaws with better movement better angles and fast powerful hands. Dont be surprised if this fight is over by the 6th round with Pac by TKO.

I don't believe the fight will pan out like this, but I certainly understand where you're coming from. there are things in this fight i don't like for Hatton, but I think proper slicksters are his real problem. Might depend on Pac's discipline (which was abviously fine vs ODLH).

Ricky doesnt have that sharp right to put a southpaw in check, and I doubt he can develop one by May 2nd.

He relies too heavily on his lunging left hook to the body, its really Pacman's fight to lose if he isnt disciplined and focus on fight night.

If Hatton can get him on the ropes and go to the body he has a great chance. If Hatton walks forward in straight lines like against Mayweather, Lazcano and countless other fights Pacquiao will repeatedly land big shots and will cut him and stop him. I just hope it's a great fight. If it turns out to be a war like everyone is hoping then maybe we'll have another trilogy on our hands. Remember not taking anything away from the Pacman but De La Hoya didn't actually throw any punches. So we still don't know if he can take big punches at the higher weight. Hatton is very strong at light welterweight.

The southpaw issue will be hard to handle as it is for any fighter. But I don't see it making the difference in the fight by any means. An inside fighter like Hatton can negate the odd angles and avoid getting turned around like DLH did.

For the record- Pac's fight against DLH was one of the finest southpaw fights I've ever seen; he was perfect in what he did, between the fast, straight lefts and then stepping off. very impressive.

Every Southpaw and i mean every Southpaw that Ricky ever faced gave him nightmares.

    Thaxton
    Magee
    Collazo
    Urango
    even
    Mark Ramsey

Hatton and his crew all know that Hatton can not work well on the inside against Southpaws.

And Pacman just happens to be the not only the best Southpaw out there but the quickest.
And were talking as quick as PBF.

    Mate bad fight for Hatton.

Bit unfair. Hatton completely outboxed Urango, but just ran out of puff. Magee did fcuk all after the second or third round.

However, Hatton can look amateurish against southpaws.

I think Hatton will have problems with the style of Pac, particularly his under rated handspeed. I used to think Pac would have a lot of trouble when being backed up, but he has really added a lot of dimensions to his game, and i have no doubt he can and will counter puncher Ricky effectively.

As said by Boppa, Hatton has always had trouble against southpaws, as he is much stronger with his left hand, which is always less effective against them. His jab in particularly which he likes to used to work his way inside, can be easily negated mostly due to the stance alone.

As well as this, Hatton tends to square himself up a lot, leaving him wide open for the straight left counter. He does this even more so when he leaves his hands down under his chin which is a common thing with Ricky.

Pac has great stamina, is very tough, throws in combination and isn't worried about a physical fight. I really think Pac has the stylistic advantages here, and based on what we saw in the Oscar fight, weight and size won't really be a big factor.

    Pac TKO 10.

Mark Ramsey caused what problems exactly ?

Magee like has already been said, did nothing after the second. That was a good win too, Magee could hold his own with any 140lber of the last decade.

Thaxton, cut Hatton and nothingh else he lost EVERY round.

Collazo was a Welterweight, so does he struggle with bigger fighters or was it because he was a southpaw ?

    Urango, was thoroughly outboxed.

Now lets discuss Pacs collapse from body shots !
