Thats also the case from Pac point of view. 50% of a Hatton fight beats 70% of any of his other options.

They both stand to make way more money fighting each other

Where else can Hatton fight somebody of Pac's status?

Maybe he could take on Randy Orton or Bautista, but otherwise I don't see it.

Heres a purely hypothetical question for you......

Boxer A and Boxer B both agree a 50/50 split on the purse, but just before the fight is signed Boxer B goes back on this and starts demanding 60%. Boxer B also threatens to pull out of the fight if he doesn't get the 60%, in the process turning his back on the best purse of his career and instead will fight another opponent for a fraction of the money he was due to get for fighting Boxer A.

Seems to me Boxer B might well be ducking Boxer A, don't you think?

    Who?

There aren't too many options for Pac taking on someone of Hatton's status either bearing in mind that he has said he will never fight under 140 again. At 140 there is no other fight too many people are going to give a **** about. At 140 there is Margo or arguably Cotto but that would be giving up a hell of a lot taking into account the size of those guys.

I wouldn't accuse Pac of ducking, I truly don't think either of these guys would be afraid of anyone. I think his lawyers are to blame for their negotiation tactics, I am sure Pac would sign the fight tomorrow!

Not really. If he wanted to duck him he'd price himself out, like Borenard did against Joe Calzaghe. But as it is, many of us find 60/40 to be very reasonable to fight the p4p #1.

One key factor people forget about purses is the Fighter A directly influences the casual fans of Fighter B, and thus the overall purse. Hatton would do way more sales against Pacquiao than a bum, for example. It's not as simple as meets the eye financially.

The 10% tax for fighting the PPV #1 is perfectly reasonable. Mayweather demanded the same, even more, he gave Hatton a higher % of British revenue to appease him. In a return fight he'd stand to get an even lower %.

Its not a 10% tax though, the FINSHING point was 50/50 (on all revenue inc. UK PPV). Unless Pac suddenly remembered he was P4P #1 as he was due to sign the fight then Pacs number 1 status had presumably been factored in by then, along with Hatton bringing more income to the fight, and then figure of 50/50 was arrived at.

Pacs team are the wankers in all this, not the perpetual ESB fall guy Ray Hatton.

    Finishing point? What finishing point?

    Nothing was ever agreed.

Pacquiao obviously sat down with his team and realised he was insane to give Hatton 50% when he's the p4p best, and Hatton got KO'd into the ring post last time he attempted to conquer the King of the Castle, Floyd Mayweather .

You know if the roles were reversed, FatJoe and TFFP would be saying Hatton was trying to duck Pac :D

Hatton's entitled to a 50/50 split, Hatton could walk away from this fight, arrange a fight at wembley against Bradley, put it on PPV and make nearly as much as he would for a Pac fight.

Pac would get a beat down from Mayweather as well.

Saying 'you getting beat by possibly the best of this generation means you're not entitled to a 50/50 split' is just bull****.

Pac lost to Marquez twice, I think Hatton should look for a 70/30 split in his favour on this basis.

According to Arum the deal was done and it certainly must have been very close to it as people were expecting the official announcment any day now. Then Pac "remembers" he's number 1 P4P and should get more money?:huh

Hatton fetches more revenue, Pac is P4P number 1. 50/50 seems to have been verbally agreed and then Pac demands more money. If that was anyone but Hatton involved you'd be calling a fighter who did what Pac did all sorts....bottler, ducker...

And who gives a **** about the ring post? Get a new routine FFS.
