WTF is hatton doing - goes all the way to mayweather & now rees - is this some kind of joke - I was really hoping for a Hatton v Witter but by the looks of it Hatton has gone for an easy opponent.. if this fight does go ahead then hatton has certainly lost some support from me

:patsch It will be a farce if it comes off this one.....Won't last 5 rounds before Rees is laid to rest

Not much of a farce another way for hatton to get a title and then try and make a move when he has that title.

I think Hatton wants an easier fight back in Manchester and it will sell due to Rees' unbeated record, being british and a title holder. It's a shame but hopefully it's just a tune up for a bigger fight later in the year. He'd be shooting himself in the foot big time if he loses though!

It'd be a career ender for Hatton if he loses I'd reckon.

Huge step up for Rees though. Can't see him having much chance.

Not a great fight for the boxing fan but something tells me that this one's not entirely for the boxing fan. But i think i'm right in saying that this fight isn't certain at all?

Rees is a weak paper champ so of course Hatton wants him. If it wasn't for his idiot fans who'll pay to see anything he would have to fight Witter or at least Malignaggi.

All credibility in Ricky will go for me if he takes this fight....he's said he wants to fight and be tested by the best and Rees certainly is'nt that....I'd like to see him go back up and figt Cotto myself because even Witter will be ****ing mauled by the Hitman.

Agree that Hatton will lose cred here but don't you think Witter would at least be a contender (despite maybe the dollar signs in his eyes)?

I think Cotto is expecting too much after getting beaten by Floyd not so long ago. A fight like Cotto would be too much in terms of punching above weight and class of opposition even tho he's no Mayweather.

Hatton will beat Rees and start calling himself a [x] time world champ, and his fans will eat it up. Like now he has no right to call himself a 2 division World Champ until he rematches Collazo like he said he would. If he wants credibilty fight Witter, I dont blame him at all for not fighting the likes of Cotto, Margarito or WIlliams - he'll get killed, but there are good fights at 140 - Rees isnt one.

    spot on.
A massive clue into Hatton came last year when he kept going on about 'not bad for little Wicky 'Atton from Stockport winning 6 world titles at different weights...etc'.
His fans are ignorant idiots and lap all this up.

I hope this fight happens. It's a good comeback fight for Hatton. It'll happen in the UK. Hatton is the real champ and eliminates one of the fake champs. Rees gets a good pay day and more recognition.

    I like it.

I want Hatton-Witter but fighting a champ in a comeback fight can hardly be hated on.
