It's common practice to have an "easy" comeback fight after a defeat, especially a KO defeat. It could make a Hatton-Witter fight more lucrative if they both had belts to bring to the table.

i've got no problem with you not liking a fighter, but labelling anyone who supports the fighter as an "ignorant idiot"? :nono

Don't know why you are all so surprised. It seemed pretty clear from the get go that Rees would be Rickys target. Ricky loves having a belt. I'm not saying he wont go after the tougher guys but he'll want a belt before he does.

All this said i think this could be a fun fight, in fact probably more fun than the ODH v mayweather rematch thats being talked about.

I actually hope this fight doesn't get made - it just holds no appeal for me.

With regard to Rees - any explanation as to why he has been so inactive since beating M'Baye? He is often rumoured to be on some SN undercard and never appears.

Hatton rebuilds his confidence and batters Ress in four rounds. He won't learn from this fight but will gain a world title. I'm not really in favour of it - I'd like to see him fight Witter. If this is on Box Office - I ain't payin!

the only way hatton retains credibility here is if they announce a fight with witter as his next one after rees.i've defended the lad in the past but if he doesn't get the witter situation sorted out he will have gone down in my estimation.he can be cut some slack after a knockout defeat having an easy one against a light hitting opponent,he wouldn't be the first to do that but to me he MUST fight witter in his next fight.apart from anything else it's what all fans especially the brits want to see.

He needs a confidence fight before he gets in with someone dangerous. not that i htink there is anyone dangerous at 140

I stand by my claim :D

Rees like the Rock is small and suprisingly awkward. Guys like Charles and Moore commented on how hard Rock was to hit cos he got low and was already small. Rees like the Rock is small and moves his head making him hard to gauge. Ask world class M'Baye.

I can't see what's wrong with this fight. I find a match-up to decide who's the second and third best LW's in Britain very appealing.

Torres is a better light welter. Rees is an easy fight for him.

There is only one fight that matters at 140, junior Witter.

The thing is Rees holds a legitimate belt. On here it's like he's so crap EVERYBODY should be ashamed to get in the ring with him!!

By luck or Judgement Rees is pretty much in the big time beltwise, yes he shouldn't really be, but he is.

If he accepts a fight with Hatton I say well done son, you'll get hammered mate, but well done you've acted like a champ who has the WBA belt and taken on the big boys and come up short. No shame in that, Hatton did the same with Mayweather.

On the Hatton side, it's The Prodical son returns. he shot for the stars against all the odds and came up short and lost his "O". He has to deal with all the different fallout from that and get back in the ring. The one way NOT to do that is to get caught cold by a Witter bomb.

He needs to tune up and he is doing (if it comes off). Fighting at home against a legit (though limited) champ.

For me he has 3 fights imminent, Rees then Malignaggi then Witter. the one problem is Witter but by then he's upto speed and we have a rip roarer filling Old Trafford!!!

I hope he wins but Witter KO8 for me.

Hatton's career after Tszyu became badly mediocre. He's been exposed twice as someone who struggles with accurate and fast counter punchers or when he's fighting someone who can fight back.

He should fight Witter but he knows Witter's counter punching, timing and accuracy will spark him.

His pressure style was a cheating farce of a style.

Maybe the the fact that Hatton is taking this fight suggestshow low his confidence is at the moment.
Some fighters can't come back from a loss. Does Ricky fall into that catagory?
