good post Max, and I feel the use of the past tense at the end is very appropriate.

The only thing I disgagree with is your first sentence. It was also badly mediocre before Tszyu.

Exposed twice by accurate and fast counter punchers?? Yes, that's all that Mayweather is obviously, he's P4P#1, he competed with Ricky in all areas, he was very good inside which won him the fight....the counter punching came to to the fore later in the fight.

The Collazo fight was a freak one. Ricky took it at short notice, was poorly conditioned and found that his reach isn't long enough for him to be climbing divisions. He still won though.

Then in two fights against people who can fight back, he outpointed Urango with ease and knocked out Castillo. He also knocked out Maussa who's awkward and hits from funny angles.

Hatton still has a couple of years to add even more good boxers to his record, lets hope he does.

Well, Hatton got the decision. Most people in the know know that he didnt win that fight though.

I don't know what fight you were watching but Hatton did not outpoint Urango with ease. He spent the last 5 rounds holding on for dear life and should probably have been disqualified.

    bollocks.

british and american tv had him winning.

    so did the 3 judges.

no way was that really controversial.

    it was close.

    no more than that.

So who do people think he will fight next then, putting all other feelings aside, & when?

I have a feeling he will have an extended break when really he should be thinking about getting back in the ring soon.

    disagree with that.

i see a stadium fight in may or june happening.

he's always wanted to box at man city football ground and now is the perfect time.

his profile has never been as big coming off the mayweather fight.

i reckon torres will get the call.

There is no reason why he should fight Torres instead of Witter. The Witter fight is bigger on both sides of the Atlantic plus Witter is a world champ.

It looks like they're just waiting for Witter to confirm a fight so they can avoid him with the excuse that he was unavailable.

WBC v WBO. No contest. Looks like the Hatton camp will squirm until they can squirm no more.

    no it's not.

it's the suits at HBO that witter needs to convince.

malignaggi and torres have both boxed on HBO.

witter has never boxed on HBO.

so why is he a bigger fight over there. :huh

wbc - witter - no profile in this country, let alone the states.

wbo - torres - exciting south american fighter who had a great up and downer with cotto.

i wonder who HBO will prefer. :huh

make me laugh some of u lot.

Who ever he fights and its not witter it will be met with resentment by some quarters on this forum. I mean if witter is fighting hopkins in march and it takes 12 rounds which are hard he his not going to be ready for hatton in may his he.

That has to be a joke. Every one whether American or British wants to see Hatton-Witter. The only people who say otherwise are the Hatton fans who and trying to justify his ducking Witter.

HBO have approved all kinds of low profile names, like Henry Bruseles for Floyd who he clown while shouting things to the commentators. Urango wasn't a huge name either.

It shouldn't be up to some clown In a suit who he fights anyway.

hopefully witter will gain a higher profile after he deals with hopkins. is it being greedy to want to see any of hatton-witter-torres-malignaggi fight each other?
