I think this one strongly depended on when it would have taken place.

Earlier in their careers, Hatton looked more impressive when they both fought Winters, but after Junior lost to Judah, which I think may have been a confidence thing. Witter changed his style and started looking to win inside the distance.

Junior seemed to really be chasing the fight with Hatton on his rise to becoming a world champion.

I think Witter would have most likely won anytime up to end of 05, possibly inside the distance as Witter was hitting hard at that time, but from 06 onwards started to think Hatton would win on workrate.

I felt Witter should have been considered as the top LWW for a while after he beat Ndou, and before Hatton beat Tsyzu.

    Witter 05 and below
    Hatton 06 and beyond

Hatton. Junior would have probably had some moments, he was a good fighter but i feel like Hatton would have mauled him.

Wiiter had a highly-awkward style, was pretty good but had almost zero profile. Not the formula to get a fight with the domestic cash cow of the day.

I can see why Hatton didn't want anything to do with him, but had they fought, I suspect Ricky would have eventually broken him down after a few rounds of eating jabs like they were Big Macs...

Witter took the fight with Zab on a week's notice and still went the distance with him, no mean feat.

When they interviewed Witter and Hatton, about a possible fight between the two. The impression I got is that Hatton didn't fancy the fight. For me this situation is like Khan/Brook.

Yes both Khan and Hatton fought better fighters than their UK rival, but it's easier to go into a big money fight, where you have nothing to lose in a fight where people expect you to lose anyway.

So Khan losing to Canelo, Crawford, or Hatton losing to Mayweather, Pacquiao. Isn't going to hurt their careers. But losing to a fellow UK rival would.

That's why I think both Khan and Hatton did avoid there UK rivals. Because it would be a far more damaging loss than losing to a top P4P fighter, where no one favoured them anyway.

And yes before anyone says anything, I know Khan and Brook did eventually fight. But I'm talking about in there actual primes.

Witter. I think he was the more skilled out of the two.

Witter by spectacular fashion with a devastating knockout, sends Ricky into a deep depression and soul searching. He would make a comeback but only to be knocked out again by club level fighters

Hatton and Billy Graham wanted no part of Witter at the time when this was the hottest British fight out there. I think square on Ricky, as brave and powerful as he was, was made for Witter's long, hurtful punches. Hatton would have looked like a butcher's window.
