I think this is a good matchup for Hatton actually, Berto is square on and wide open. Perhaps Hatton even learned some new tricks from Floyd Sr., countering with the right uppercut for example like Jr. does so often. I think Berto is a sucker for that punch.
Berto isn't much one for lateral movement, so I think Hatton could simply cling to him and rip shots all night. Lately Hatton's chin hasn't looked iron clad, and Berto has some pop, so it's no easy night for Ricky, and he would wind up taking some heavy leather, but ultimately I think Hatton would win this one. Edit: Hatton also has an experience edge, and now has Floyd Mayweather Sr. in his corner.
Berto by way of speed and accuracy. I'd like to see him be a bit more lateral than he was against LC in order to spin this though.
To forget that styles make fights would be to commit a cardinal sin in evaluating how a fight might transpire. Collazo's south paw stance played a heavy factor for his success against Berto. Although Hatton would pressure Berto on the inside which is where Collazo did much of his damage against Berto, his conventional stance would be far easier for Berto to deal with. I also belive that Hatton wouldn't be able to handle Berto's power especially at 147. Berto by ko
I think that goes the other way too. I think Hatton has a real good chance of wearing Berto down, I also see Berto KOing Hatton. I'd take Berto though
