Very tough fight for both but out of the 2 Cotto has more tools than Hatton, better jab, foot work etc.
Cotto @ 140 was known for his body shots same goes to Hatton but I may have to go with Cotto late tko.

Prime Hatton wins by decision , quicker and stronger at 140.

I always thought Cotto looked ill at 140.

I've always gone against the general flow, and picked Hatton here.

Cotto for most of what are considered his 'prime' days at 140lbs, had a tough time making weight, and when you've subjected your body to punishment to make a weight limit, the last thing you want is to be facing a fighter who's going to punch that body all night long.

Hatton has the footspeed to get close to Cotto, who will catch Hatton coming in, but Ricky in his prime 140lb days was not lacking for a chin, It's a fight of the year type situation, and a real war of attrition. I just think Hatton is vastly under-rated in 140lb H2H matchups.

To me it depends on what extracurriculars Hattom could get away with. If he was able to wrestle with Cotto, he could wear him down. Otherwise I see a Cotto UD or late stoppage.

This is spot on:deal. If it is in England Ricky will be able to utilize his Greco-Roman Wrestling abilities anywhere else on the planet (unless Ricky brings the officials he loses by a UD maybe a late round stoppage.

Hatton needing to wrestle Cotto to win is a **** poor observation IMO.

Ricky gets such a bad rap for his two ko loses, the man had a better chin then a lot of people give him credit for...look at the tzyu fight, hatton walks through bombs, with a swarming style with little to no defence you kind of have to have a good chin because naturally youll be eating a lot of leather. I often thought about this match up myself, If cotto tried to stand flat footed and trade with hatton I think he'd lose even if cotto boxed well Ricky cut of the ring well so I gotta go with the Hitman by tko late
