Miguel Cotto hadn't really maturated as a fighter at 140lbs; he was still very green and having a lot of trouble making weight. That's one of the main reasons you seen him nearly get knocked out by Ricardo Torres and DeMarcus Corley. Ricky Hatton at 140lbs was the complete antithesis of Miguel Cotto at 140lbs. He never struggled with the weight, had amazing stamina, great chin, great volume, great body-punching. Hatton's body of work at Jr. Welterweight was pretty impressive. I'd have to take Ricky Hatton for a number of reasons; 1. He never struggled with the weight and Miguel Cotto did this means if the fight becomes a war of attrition Hatton had the upper hand. 2. His pressure style would have given Cotto trouble simply because Cotto has struggled with any pressure style. 3. Cotto's chin at 140lbs was very very suspect and we later found out it was because of the weight drain. Ricky Hatton by stoppage.
atschWhat, the same wicky that was allowed to put on a modern day clinic on how to fight a beyond ****ing filthy fight by beyond incompetent and biased ref Dave Parriss? You're ****ing joking, right? If Cotto-Hatton at 140 were held in Manchester with scumbag Parriss reffing,it's Hatton by tko as Parriss would let him do whatever the **** he wants.Anywhere else Cotto stops him.:yepPrime Hatton would have been a better MMA fighter than boxer.
Cotto wasn't stopped by anyone until Margarito and Pac,one fighter that DESTROYED Hatton, and another one that WOULD have.Once again, the only way Cotto gets stopped by Hatton is if it were in Manchester with Parriss reffing.
