Hatton vs Cotto @ catchweight

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by MasterCalzaghe, Jul 30, 2008.

  1. Now can we see this fight!?!?!?! All this Cotto is too big now talk is rubbish, I've been asking for months about this matchup, let it happen I say!!!! Neither man can get a bigger fight right now + if you want to compare they've both knocked out Carlos Muassa.................only Cotto did it one round sooner.

Plus if Ricky beats Malignaggi via KO he will have bettered Cotto's result (UD over 12 rounds)

    Make it happen promoters!!!!!!!

More chances of a wank from the pope. If it does happen at catchweight it will be at a catchweight of 147!!!! Cotto cant make 140 end of story. Hatton doesnt need no extra favours to put on 7lbs. He does that normally eating fry ups and drinking beer. Id pay handsomely to watch Cotto tear him apart.

Hatton beat Maussa better though - one was stopped on cuts and one was a beatdown.

At 140 Hatton wins by late stoppage
At 147 Cotto wins mid round KO

Utterly stupid logic. What about Hatton and Cotto at 126? Or why not 170?

I don't feel Cotto was all that at 140, neither Hatton at 147.

Not stupid logic at all IMO.

Cotto kills him in any weight class. Just because he lost badly to Margarito does not mean Hatton will beat him.

Iv watched Cotto since he turned pro. He blazed a trail at 140. Some of you rookies memorys are so short..

Cotto would completely destroy him, there isn't a single area I rate Hatton above him in.

Cotto looked like he could be stopped at 140, now he has been stopped at 147 the apparent invincibility has vanished. Hatton is a beast at 140 but can't carry it up to 147, thats just the way it is.

This fight just won't happen imo - Cotto can't make 140 anymore and is just asking to be stopped if he does, same applies to Hatton going up to 147.

They should have got it on at 140, alas politics!

There is little point in anybody arguing the virtues of Hatton winning at his own optimal weight but then completely dismiss Cotto`s current optimal weight. You may aswell claim that Chris Byrd has Vladimirs number because he cant make 200lbs. At ANY weight Hatton looses and looses badly end of story end of thread.

    Quite.

These guys act like Cotto was a bum at 140. Sure he had chin issues, but I'd like to see Hatton take a dangerous challenge like Ricardo Torres and lets see how his looks.

You mean the end of your participation in the thread - you've had your say, and its all down to perception of a hyperthetical question. Statements like that really get on my Threepenny bits! :verysad

Its hardly perception more like FACT. Hatton has said time and again he was interested in a bout with Cotto. It was nothing more than hot air. The FACTS remain that in almost half as many fights Cotto`s resume was better than the cans Hatton was fighting to the tune of the WBU 140.
