Hatton will get the shite smashed out of him for approximately 4 rounds before a devastating KO that retires him

Hatton doesnt fight punchers. Frank Warren made clear of that and Hatton has never reverted form this. If Hatton was to get in the ring with Torres he`d be wiped out in under 5 rounds.

This is one of the worst match ups that I have heard on these threads.

Cotto loses one fight to a 5"11, granite chinned, hard hitting Margarito and now you think he should be fighting wasted version of a Junior Welterweight in Ricky Hatton. This fight can't be too far from 147 because Cotto doesn't go below that weight anymore; meanwhile, Hatton is above 147 out of the ring. Collazo had Ricky hazed imagine against Cotto. Mayweather wasn't even going for a KO and he got it anyways. Cotto would destroy Hatton within 6 rounds, especially now that Cotto is coming back wanting to redeem his first lost of his career. Their is no way possible I see Hatton winning this one. Hatton is not the power puncher Torres is at 140 nor the finisher Margarito is at 147. Plain and simple, this fight is pointless unless we are talking Mayweather's language in "Money."

Hatton would beat Torres - that should have been the avenue post FMJ rather than Lazcano.

Cotto was not a bum at 140, far from it, but the aforementioned chin issues and his proneness to body attack coupled with reduced power and speed would render him a sitting target. Albeit a very tough one.

OK ok your right - oh, what does the world look like so far up your own arse? IF you read my earlier quote I only made a case for Cotto being ko'd from being weight drained - nothing else

I don't have the time or inclination for this. Over and out

Cotto: better boxer, harder puncher, at either weight.

    140: ricky
    147: cotto

margarito really stirred up the hornest nest around here. people are looking for any excuse to reclaim some credibility for Cotto, when they don't need to.

I think Mr Tszue may disagree with you.

Chins are similar. Cotto has more power & skill. Cotto wins @ any weight

Wonderfully said, I don't get why all these Cotto vs. Hatton threads keep popping up, this fight would be too easy for Cotto at 147.

Hatton has been knocked out just once in 45 professional fights, and that was with the help of a ring post. He walked though Tszues bombs all night. His chin isn't that bad. He always gets wobbled now and again; but fights though it.

Not true. They both arguably won every round against Maussa, but Hatton had a lot more trouble with Maussa than Cotto did. Cotto outclassed Maussa to the point where before the end of round five, the Top Rank commentators were debating if the fight should be stopped. Hatton, had a highlight reel KO over Maussa, but looked lackluster up until that point. Even the UK commenators mentioned Cotto handled Maussa much better during the Hatton fight.

Anyway, as far as a Cotto-Hatton fight goes, I say Cotto stops him. But I'd give Hatton a slightly better chance than before considering what happened to Cotto against Margarito than I would have before.
