What if they fought at 135? Or how about down at flyweight? Or maybe up at 200lbs? Im sure hatton can make 200lbs..

Cotto CANT make 140. Its completely fruitless debating a semantic point of a fight between both men at 140 when its abundantly clear Cotto is a solid welter now who moved up in weight succesfully.

Thats because the idiots on this forum only have memories that go back less than a week. Cotto wouldnt just exploit him he would brutalise him with devastating ease. Hatton doesnt have the power to hurt Cotto or keep him honest and neither does he have the defense or elusive enough style to stay out of his grill. This would be a fight like no other in a phonebooth with Hatton taking a hellacious beating and getting stopped much faster than PBF could do it. Styles make fights. Cotto`s style since he turned pro has always been horribly wrong for a small defensively pororus guy like Hatton.

Thats some good maths. At least Cotto foght Chop chop on his way up. When Hatton was the WBO mandatory and Corley was the champ he refused point blank to face Corley and instead gave up his number 1 ranking with the WBO so he could defend the prestigious WBU a few more times.

There is no way that Hatton could handle the kind of shots from Cotto that Margo took. Margo is a beast, we all know this, but the shots that Cotto landed on his beard would have sent Hatton though the canvis. I like Hatton but this would a very bad fight for him. Cotto is way too much. Hatton better pick on someone his own size like Timoty Bradly or even Pac, but stay the hell away from anyone at 147.:hat

If you`d been watching boxing long enough you would know. Remember Hattons mooted bout with Kelson Pinto? No i didnt think so.. That bout was a WBO eliminator AFTER Hatton reneged on his number 1 ranking. Mysteriously Pinto pulled out. Pinto was a noted puncher. Subsequently Cotto fought Pinto and smashed him to bits. Warren ALWAYS steers his fighters down the WBO route. Hatton was top of there rankings and both times when there was a solid matchup the fights never happened. But hey Hatton went back to defending the WBU right?

Matter of fact i just found a source  From good ol ESB!

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/boxing-news/DeMarcus-Corley-Interview.php

"EL: What is next for you after defeating Randall Bailey?
DC: We are back in the gym training right now getting ready for whomever they want me to fight next. My mandatory is Ricky Hatton and he does not want to fight me and he is set to square off against Vince Phillips. We will see which fighter is at number two and find out if they want to take the fight. Right now I don't care who I fight. I just want to defend my title.
EL: Assuming you and Ricky Hatton do meet down the road would you rather fight him in England or at home since you are the champion?
DC: I would love to go to England to defeat Ricky Hatton because it would establish a lot of background for me therefore saying that I came to his hometown and beat him instead of him coming over here and beating him. Beating him in England will help me build my fan-base."

That interview is approximately 5 years old or more. Hatton did indeed go on to fight a 40 plus year old Vince Phillips. Directly after that he said publiclly that a fight was made in print between himself and Witter. Its on youtube. He also reneged on that. So you see you have more belief in Ricky than he does in himself.

This is a big mistake for Hatton should he decide to venture up to 147 again....Cotto when he was at 140 or the current Cotto would steamroll Hatton

147 i dont think Hatton could take Cotto
140 Hatton because Cotto would be ****ed at that weight again. We all know Ricky doesn't travel well up to 147.

Hatton takes this at 140, at 147 Cotto has to be the favourite. Great fight, if it happens.
