Perhaps im the only one but I dont think any of these fighters is done and can perhaps reek havoc once more. I especially think Diaz has more to go but the only thing I am worried about is his devotion to the sport, I mean I respect that he wants an education but really how many would want to be in his shoes right now? So how do you guys see this fight at 140?
i like hatton in this one, i agree with almost all of the post....I think hatton has actually better boxing skills then diaz, if hatton can get through the first 2 rounds, even paulie won the first round off hatton, i think hatton will close the distantace with his great footwork, and not back off and look for space against diaz like marquez did....hatton will force diaz to fight on the inside, and hatton will win a comfortable decision 116-112 or 117-111.....entertaining fight but hatton will make this his kind of fight.
Diaz will not be able to move Hatton like he did against JMM but Diaz has an underated defense almost shell like. JMM was able to break through because of his precision. This fight sounds intriguing. Depending on how well Diaz does against Pauly im split 50-50 right now
i agree about jmm percision is what finished diaz off, i think hatton will just make it a fight on the inside....and the only guy to ever beat hatton on the inside was floyd....i still have concerns about hatton's punch resistance going....and marquez was rocked once by diaz.
Ill say diaz for the simple reason that diaz punches back when hit n hatton kind of stands there n doesnt punch back: diaz ko in the 9th
Hatton doesn't have the power of Marquez, so i can see Diaz walking through Hatton's shots and wearing him out late especially since Diaz has the tighter technique and superior jab. Ricky can cause problems for Juan if he brings that hold and hit style the way he did against Urango( because he will definitely be the stronger man in this fight) and thus nullifying him on the inside, then it could turn out to be a boring and ugly points win for Hatton. This is a 50/50 fight.
I've picked Hatton but the truth is we don't know what he's got left - it's not just his punch resistance which concerns me but seeing some of the 24/7 andother interviews leading up to Pac he looked low on confidence. If he was getting beaten up by Lara in sparring this would make sense. Without those concerns I see his body work getting to Diaz who was hurt there against Campbell and JMM.
