No other division matters and the light welter division is the only division in boxing. Within this Hatton is the daddy and hence the p4p fighter at light welter.

Even Bunce would not make that mistake.

I can't really defend Hatton's choice of opponent. You can say his opponent is world class but I can't see why he isn't going after Malignaggi or even Torres. I would have been happy with that as long as he went for Witter afterwards. I'm becomming a a little bit disellusioned with Hatton if I am being honest. If this is on PPV, which I'm sure it will be, then I won't be ****ing paying.

Fair point, but I think Hatton has had enough of gaining confidence, getting the rounds in and getting the win in his career to date.

Agreed it is pretty sad, i have been a hatton fan for years and will always be one, the poor ******* just miscalculated, he will be back, and even if he doesnt he took on the best p4p in the world, fair play to him!

No ones expecting another PBF calibre opponent. But lets be real the "Champs" at 140 are hardly names and that includes Witter and nor are they massive challenges. If Ricky wants to claim 140 as his its high time he started fighting the BEST the division has to offer instead of all thee ridculous confidence builders. Iv never seen a fighter wrapped in more cotton wool than Hatton.

Lets be realistic, the reason that this fight is being held in a UK stadium, at a decent hour is so the opponent doesn't have to pass muster with American TV for a prime time slot. Most fighters would take this type of fight after suffering the type of loss that Hatton did against PBF, peope are making it sound like he's the first boxer to ease himself back in after a big loss.....:huh

I didn't say he was in that company, did I? Any fair minded person would agree he's not. I said the 'most protected fighter ever' remark was going to get picked apart.
