According to UK radio station TalkSport just now. No other sources to show, sorry.

If it's true I think it's a bad match up for Ricky and will end in him getting KO'd.

    Thoughts?

Judging by his last performance and recent pics of Hatton, I would say he is in for a long night...or a very short one ending with him getting Ko'd.

Okay if Marquez knocks out Hatton, at 140 (Hatton's best weight right) lol

Will he get the same credit manny got?

I have a sneaky feeling, people will say Hatton was shot or Marquez did nothing that aint already been done.

But when other fans were saying Hatton was shot after the Lascono fight which happened before the Pac fight, it magically got put under the carpet when it came time for PAC to face Hatton.

Hopefully it doesn't happen as I can only see a one sided win for JMM.

Whoever loses should retire for good. If it's a draw, then they both should retire.

To be fair people are already saying Hatton's past it. But I think you've got a point Ricky's stock is low after the Pacquaio fight and Marquez will get little credit for beating him. He'll get a good payday though.

I don't want to upset my fellow Brits, but if the fight is indeed in Manchester, Ricky is going to get away with so much clinching. If he loses convinsingly, I want to see him retire for good. I like the guy, but he just didin't make it to that 'great' level - he was very good though.

I thought he would retire now and concentrate on promoting, if he's taking another fight I'd have preferred ro see him take a more winnable one and go out on a victory but I can't see that hapenning with Marquez.

Props to him for still going for the tough fights i suppose but I wouldn't like him to damage his legacy with another KO loss.

I'm not sure why you're selling Hatton so short...I mean Marquez didn't look like a monster puncher in the Floyd fight. His punches looked like that they ZERO pop to them. At the same token though, Hatton's chin is practically gone.

But seeing as how Diaz had Marquez wobbled on some occassions at LW...I'm not sure why Hatton couldn't have similar success considering he has a similar pressuring style and a better left hook than Diaz. Diaz had better defense though...and that's not saying much considering Diaz isn't quite a defensive wizard.

I think it's a pretty even fight all things considering.

Very true that the Lazcano fight was forgotten about in the build up to the Manny fight, but I wouldn't say that it was magically put under that carpet. What placed it under the carpet was Ricky's performance against Paulie Malignaggi, where he looked very strong and many people gave Ricky the benefit of the doubt over the Lazcano fight and were willing to put that down to a 'bad night at the office'.

I hope you're right but I can't recall Marquez actually landing much on Floyd except the one shot just before he got KD'd. Hatton doesn't have as big a size advantage over Marquez that Floyd had will probably fight in front of Marquez anyway so will be easier to hit.

Assuming the fight's at 140 I think Marquez will be better conditioned at that weight than he was against Floyd too.

You have a point though that Marquez chin isn't his best attribute so there's the chance of Hatton hurting him but I wouldn't give him more than a 20-30% chance of winning.

There was another fight in between. Hatton and Malignaggi in which Hatton did well.

You should look at the last fight to see the status of the fighter. If you have to go far and base their status on their worst night then most fighters will be written off. You can say Pac was shot when he was TKOed years ago.

If Hatton fought Pac after Lazcano then it would be more valid to say that Hatton was damaged already.
