Ok so I'm talking hypothetically here, but let's say IF and it's a big IF, Hatton decides to come back into the ring and regain some lost pride, do you think he will be up for fighting Amir Khan?? I think it makes sense from both persectives: Amir Khan- Moving up to light welter to face Kotelnik, Khan is in most people's opinion a natural at this weight given his size and young age. He is fancied to prevail against the slow moving and light power from Kotelnik so he would be a contender for anyone at this weight level for future fights. Hatton- if Hatton continues he will no longer be able to get any sort of fight to match the glitz and glamour of his previous two outings. In short, his rep is in tatters in the states and he will not command the same bargaining chips at the negotiating table after 2 brutal K/O's. However, the public are for the vast majority on his side and he would have little trouble filling out the Manchester Stadium for his last hoorah and a chance to finish his career on a high. The problem remains finding an opponent that can pull in some credibility and intrigue. In steps Khan. An upcoming star despite the massive stick he gets almost everywhere, Khan will have credibility provided he deals with Kotelnik and has been touted by Freddie Roach as undoubtedly his next world champion star. Lest we forget that Roach predicted a Pacman KO inside 3 rounds and we all thought that the Parkinsons had finally caught up with him. From now on I would be inclined to side with Roach. If he feels he can turn Khan into a multi weight champion then who are we to argue. I think Hatton would fancy his chances against Amir, hoping to bull through his speed with a big hook to KO him early, but i think a lot is made about Khan's chinniness and how it will always be his undoing, but the greatest boxers in the world are usually the ones who dont get hit that much e.g. Mayweather. Khans defence has and will continue to improve dramatically as he spends more time sparring the likes of Pacman in Hollywood. Personally, I think Khan will surprise a lot of people in the near future. If he does fight Ricky I see a heavy points win but more likely a mid to late KO. Hatton is just much too easy to hit and the punches he has taken have to take their toll at some point. Furthermore, I think Roach has the game to give Amir all the tools he needs to become the best. Pacman didnt have a right hand before he met Roach who has added a deadly arsenal of KO punches to his frightening speed. We must remember that Khan only 21. If you see marquez, pacquaio, calzaghe, hopkins et al. at 21 they were all talented but flawed fighters. I think Roach will teach him everything he taught Pacquiao and more. So I have 2 questions: 1- What do you think of a possible Khan Vs Hatton? 2- Will Roach be proved right about Khan's chances of becoming a great champion.
No way Hatton is going to risk what is left of his legacy by getting beaten by Khan (God forbid). This fight never happens.
hatton would murder khan... lets not act like hatton turned into a bum overnight. he simply lost to the two best fighters in the last 15 years!
Khan would stop hatton by mid rounds. Hatton is just way to easy to hit. Pacmans sparring sessions against Khan were alot more challenging then the fight against Hatton. Khan is continously improving, and with Roach in his corner he will become a world champ without a doubt. You have to remember he was an olympic silver medalist at 17! He has a great jab, speed and decent power. His agility is very good. I admit, his a huge weakness, but from his last 2 fights his defence seems to have improved drammatically. He also showed he has a heart of a lion, against Prescott when he got KO'd by 2 HUGGGEE punches by Prescott and still almost managed to get back up. He will become champ for sure. However Hatton will never fight Khan, as said already he will never risk his legacy against Khan.
Hatton smashes that glass jaw! It depends on whether Hatton makes adjustments, and whether Khan can execute the game plan. Khan doesn't have Pacquiao's power and isn't really a counter-puncher, but Hatton is very vulnerable to getting stopped by any decent boxer now the trend has been set. That said, if Khan tries to exchange, he'll get blown away.
Yes, I think that is a good fight, I also think him and Junior Witter have unfinished business, but Witter's loss stopped that dream. Maybe Hatton-Bradley. His last fight should be at Wembley stadium, though, maybe with Billy Graham as his trainer, and Lee Beard as well.
Khan has the body to be a fully fledge welterweight. He's 5"10 and has a reach of 72 compared hatton's 65. Khan will be far too big and powerful for hatton. too strong.
I think Hatton is a kind of a bum. Yes he lost to two great fighter, but he was clearly not in either of their classes. Manny was supposed to be too small for Hatton. David Diaz put up a better fight than Hatton. Judah, Corley, these guys didn't get knocked out by Mayweather and their chins aren't that good, but Ricky got KO. Floyd Mayweather never knocks anyone out like that, and it was clear from the fight that Hatton couldn't take his punches. Manny's punches didn't really rock a washed up De La Hoya but Hatton was badly hurt by Manny. Paulie Malignaggi put dents on Ricky's face. Ricky has horrible defense and I never could figure out how nobody couldn't time him like that, he always leaves his face wide open.
its got nothing to do with hatton's punch resistance. Hatton leaned into the punch. Two oppossing forces only means chaos. bang!!!! Dela hoya never ran into pac, neither did Diaz. If they did it would have ended quicker.
Khan is even faster than Manny and this is coming from Roach, also bigger at 5'10. Hatton should just retire, Khan would KO Hatton and make it look easy with Roach's gameplan. At 140 i feel Khan chin will improve, because at 135 and 5'10 he was weight drained. Dr Roach is a BOXING Scientist
Hatton was stunned by every shot that landed, chin is gone, that neutralises Khan's bad chin, with Khan's other intangibles he will get the victory.
Khan would probably stop Hatton and Im not even trying to be sarcastic, it is what it is. Hatton cannot handle speed and he has a non existent defense. Plain old facts.
