I can see why Malignaggi would want a rematch, but why would Hatton? He's already got the W, if he just wants a belt there's always other easier paper champions to take on.

Hatton gets nothing out of taking Malignaggi on.

Not true, if he wins he gets the WBA belt! Don't underestimate Ricky's will and determination, the guy's a beast and still only 33! There have been crazier come backs than his.

The come back's got to be about dough and he doesn't fancy starting too low in the divison so he's taken on a semi feather fisted fighter he's already beat. Of course it's risky due to time out, but I totally undertsnd it, he's got nothing to lose cos everyone's writing him off already, but if he wins he's right in the mix for big big paydays with a belt to boot.

Khan, Brook and that's just domestically......I can't wait "There's only one Ricky Hatton..........."

yes we did, i've never seen so many excuses for a fighter than people give paulie. paulie has been beaten by every top level fighter hes faced with the exception of a past it juan diaz.

hatton has always been a better boxer and a better fighter than paul malignaggi. I believe Hatton said it best when so many people were talking about Paulie being a "master boxer" who would dance rings around hatton .. "his best wins are lovemore ndou and herman ngoujo..."

paulie for having "improved" like so many people are saying, has done nothing but take another monster beating by a top fighter in khan, and beat more nobodies (including senchenko)

having said all that, Hatton should not come back, no way no how.

I don't usually post, just generally like to keep upto date with whats going.

But I seen Hatton jogging near Hyde United on Sunday morning and he looked like he is over weight and not in fighting shape.

I also heard a rumour he was in the Townley before the match Sunday afternoon.

Hope he doesn't bother coming back.

Supported him all the way through his career (the blue ****) and had some brilliant nights watching him live that i'll remember forever. Still get tingles now thinking about the atmosphere and the roar at some of the fights i attended as he made his way to the ring.

His style was never going to give him a long career compared to others and the fact he didn't live the lifestyle cut it even shorter and it all caught up with him in the end.

Had a great career, multi millionaire and only lost to two of the best fighters of his generation (if you don't include Collazo which i personally thought he fell short of the win)

We know he struggled with southpaws and done well to move up to WW and beat Collazo in a close fight .Pacquiao fight I think he struggled boiling down but he walked through Malignaggi .I'd defintley like to see it at WW never know .He might be better fully hydrated if he makes WW good .
