They should fight earlier to make it easier for UK fans to see the fight. I am sure if the fight started 8pm US time that it would still get allot of viewers in the states.
new york start time is 10pm i saw on the roy jones bill promos so give 1 hour for undercard and intos and it is yet another 4am in the morning job. since this fight will do bigger ppv numbers in the uk than america even given that it is prime time usa and in the graveyard shift in the uk, hatton by signing an american tv contract is shitting on his loyal fans.
Damn man, what choice does he have? It's a pain in the ass that everything is a slave to the networks, but the alternative is just to avoid the States and miss out on big fights, big audiences and big money. I'll be matchsticks-in-the-eyelids tonight as usual, but I'm certainly going to deride Hatton for that.
i am guessing here but i guess hatton v malinaggi will do 300k ppv in prime time america ? that means hardly anybody in america will be watching. pauli malinaggi`s last fight in america that i watched v ngodju was watched by just a few hundred people. outside of dlh americans are not watching boxing this year. i beleive the biggest boxing audience for any fight this year was 2 million. or 1/3rd of what an amir khan audience or 1/10th of a klitchko fight in germany. the crowd tonight will all be hatton fans by and large. i can understand the mayweather fight but malinaggi is not a name in america outside of real die hard boxing fans . albeit frank warren has stopped hatton fighting at the g mex out of spite. IMO the fanbase/tv base for the malinaggi fight is in the uk but the numbers will tell and obviously with the dollar strethning against the pound it will push up hattons bank account if it does well in america.
Any brits in this thread? Can you tell me what time it is right now over there? I have to make sure our time difference is 2hrs, so I don't miss the fight.
Ah, great, this means that the time difference IS 2hrs. .....Which means I'll have to stay up until 6am to watch the fight :yikes Thanx for the info guys. :good
The HBO broadcast starts at 10pm. I just found out the place where I usually go to watch all the big fights isn't showing it for whatever reason so I got 3 1/2 hours to find a spot. :scaredas:
