Hatton vs mayweather

I'm also aware that all the attributes Floyd relied on to beat Hatton at 147 wouldn't exist if the fight were at 140 and Hatton were fighting in the UK.

I couldn't favor Mayweather, as Hatton in his prime was a pressure fighter similar to Pacquiao, and he would just by his style give Mayweather problems.

 

So you're claiming that Mayweather's power got better as he moved from 140 to 147atsch?

I don't think Mayweather would beat Hatton at 140 and I don't think he stands a chance against Pacquiao at 140. I think at 147 and up favors Mayweather because Mayweather has greater reach, and is just bigger than Hatton and Pacquiao. Lower weights favor naturally smaller fighters.

 

Hatton lacks power, Pacquiao has power, but in terms of style they both leave their chin out and both are pressure fighters. In Hatton's prime he was relentless, a great body puncher, at 140 he has a good chin, he had great stamina equal to Pacquiao's at 140, it's only when he moved up to 147 that he looked like utter crap.

Mayweather is 5ft8, he's got a ridiculously long reach, he's built to go all the way up to 160. He doesn't need power because he's not a pressure fighter, he's a slick boxer. Hatton on the other hand has short arms, is 5ft6, and naturally 140lbs. Hatton also doesn't have as good of a chin which is why he couldn't take Mayweathers punches which is ultimately why he lost in dramatic fashion.

He didn't get out pointed, or clinicked, he got KO'd.

Pacquiao is LIGHT YEARS better than Hatton in just about every category.He is also a southpaw.His defense is better than Hatton's and his chin is superior.Don't even get me started on their resumes.Just because they are both pressure fighters,that doesn't mean they fight in a similar manner.Hatton relied on a multitude of dirty moves(especially holding and hitting,which he did constantly).Pac doesn't have to,is FAR quicker than Hatton,and throws punches from MANY more angles than Hatton did.Hatton moved up 7 pounds and he looked like crap?So was he in the Mayweather fight or wasn't he?Reality is,he looked like crap when he moved up IN CLASS!!YOU are comedy gold!!Thank youatsch

I agree with this. Boxmaster comes off like a person who never watched floyd until he fought hatton because some of this stuff makes no sense. I will say this:

- Floyd beats hatton at any weight

-Please stop making the weight excuses. Floyd started 130. Ricy was a career 140lber. People were ranking this guy in the top 10 P4p. If a top 10 p4per cant move up 1 weight class and fight effectively then guess what? He aint a p4p guy.

Whats up with british fans, Hatton isnt even close technically to Mayweather and no matter the weight Ricky would lose, british fans are really delusional whats next some myth that Alan Minter would beat Hagler but referee was bad or sky wasnt good...seriously stop with ilusions, Hatton was good fighter came to fight 2 best fighters and was outclassed end of story!!! British fans have every write to speka about Lewis Holyfield robbery or something like that, but when two fighters are in different class like Ricky and Floyd stop bitching, and Hatton was 10 times easier than Castillo 1 so stop posting it was Floyds toughest fight it was not!!!

 

How can you compare Ricky to Pac do you even watch boxing, they simply are not in the same class, i believe Ricky would admit this with no problem because thats a fact, i respect your love for Hatton but be real he isnt as good as Pac or Floyd not even close!
