i equated $50 as £35.

i cannot see any forms online that say free, but i take your word for it that the fee has now been waived and it costs nothing to apply.

 

I still can't make my mind up whether to go for this or not

 

It is on the US embassy web-site or some such. It is defo free, there are lots of these little websites cropping up saying that they will help you thorugh the process and are charging horrendous fees, £250 on one site according to the BBC.
