    What an ending!

That has to be my first words.

This fight had alot of hype and expectations and for me it lived up to them. As they got into the ring my excitement levels grew and then the starting bell.

I was expecting Pac to come out throwing ,like Hagler in the Hearns fight, but no he moved abit with Hatton coming forward. There was 2 clinches as teh fighters felt each other out in the first 30 seconds then Pacquaio landed afew solid shots that you could see had some meat on them. Hatton kept plodding forward in the only way he knew but he was getting picked off, he landed one good flurry against Pacquaio as he bulled him against the ropes and let loose with 2 body shots. Pac managed to escape and raised his arms in his usual manner.

Then Pac started throwing some serious combos that got Hatton holding and afew seconds later had manauvered Ricky onto the ropes and let loose with 2 solid shots that had Hatton holding on for his career.

Then it happened. Pacquiao got him into position set him up with a few shots and threw his right hook just as Hatton stepped forward. BANG! On the button Hatton crumbled to the canvas.

This Knock Down wasnt like the Juan Manuel Marquez Knock Down where Pac over powered him in the 1st round and Knocked him down 3 times. In them knock downs Marquez just seemed overwhelmed. Hatton was hurt this was a proper Knock Down.

Hatton cleverly took his full 8 count on a knee and got up but Pacquaioo gave him extra vital seconds to recover by coming out of his corner too early. After afew seconds Pac obliged to the referees commands and the action continued.

Pac was in full controll landing excellant, sharp, accurate combinations and rocking Hatton with every shot. Hatton was hurt but managed o survive until the last 10 seconds when Pac let loose with a 5 punch combo that Knocked Hatton over into the Blue corner. Hatton rose at 8 again and then the bell rang.

In the corner Hatton was hurt, i could see it. I dont have a clue what was said in the corner as i couldnt hear it but there was nothing that could be said.

Hatton came out of his corner facing the inevitable. The bell sounded for Round 2. Pac came out again like a dervish but a stiff Hatton right hand caught him off balance and made him shuffle to ragin balance which brought up a huge cheer from the Hattton faithfull. Pac was still picking off the Hitman as he plodded forward with little head movemnt or defence. Hatton landed a solid right hand - left hook combination inside but it did not effect Manny. Manny kept the classy combos ozzing off his dazzling fists with super fast, lazer accurate, powerful shots. Hatton was seeming to recover as he was starting to look like his legs were back underneath him and he was starting to throw more. Then Hatton stepped forward with a jab as Pac moved his head to the right and threw a solid left hook.

Hatton fell to the floor with a limp body, he looked hurt. The ref stood over Hatton and waved it off and turned him into the recovery postition as Pac celbrated (wrongly in my opinion as Hatton was still hurt.) Hatton finally regained his feet and seemed fine and was eventually checked out of Hospital at midnight Vegas time.

This was an impressive performance by Pac who i tipped to win by a late KO. I knew Pac would catch him with a shot as Hatton stepped in but i didnt think it would be that early or clinical. I was impressed with his speed of hand and foot and he is truly shaping into a more complete fighter.

As for Ricky i feel he should retire and give his fiance Jennifer no more to worry about as she was visibly shaken and unsettled at Hattons condition and this was unsettling viewing for me.

On the undercard was Humberto Soto a mexican i have come to like. He impressed me and reminded me of Julio Cesar Chavez in the way he made room for his long accurate hard shots. He had abit of trouble form Gaudet his opponent who was a good boxer but lacked power but after dropping Gaudet in the 1st he finally put him away in the 9th with a brillaintly placed shot that knocked Gaudet down and the ref waved it off.

Danny Jacobs impressed me with his willingness to suceed and his silky smooth skills. this guy has a great amatuer pedigree and it shows in both good ways and bad ways. On the good hand he is silky smooth on the outside and lands great fast combos and has a good jab but he lacks an inside game completly opting to hold and is abit casual in his approach also he might lack power at the top level. All in all a good prospect.

Mattvei Korobov impressed me with a cool calm collected performance. He takes his time is patient but has fast ahnds and gets in range buaetifully. Definitly one ot watch

Erislandy Lara was good but didnt just take you by the scruff of the neck and dip your head down the toilet and demand your attention. He is a great boxer and has great skills but is predictable and lacks imagination. He landed a hard jab then followed it up with a fast left cross every time. If he can get a bit more imagination this is defintily a top prospect.
