Yeah, this is more likely than another bloated Hatton facing a larger foe in his most comfortable division.
A bit old now but yes, this was mentioned before. Don't see it happening anytime soon but it's possible.
They are the same height roughly. Pacquiao started at a low weight but I think 122 was his natural weight all along. That was the first division he didn't die to make weight. Fair is fair, Pac has been putting on serious weight after weight ins for a while now. Pac is the smaller man but if Hatton can make this fight he should. Big name, good pay day but without huge risk. Plus Pac will make it exciting. I'd be suprised if Arum was stupid enough to put him in with Ricky. Hatton loves being the bigger/stronger man and he'd maul and brawl Pac to death
Ricky KOs him before 6 rounds, there might not be much of a difference in weight at the weight in but come fight night Hatton will dwarf him. Mismatch.
PACMAN doesn't do a lot of fighting on the inside. He is faster than Hatton and has better fortwork. The notion that Hatton will maul him on the inside is a bit overblown and will only happen if PACMAN doesn't have enough firepower to keep him off for 12 rounds. That remains to be seen.
" doesn't do alot of fighting on the inside '' is an understatement. Pacman's inside game is pretty much non-existant, kinda like his defense although he protects himself a little better now. Pacman has always been vulnerable to rough house fighters and that's what hatton does best. Plus he's the biggest man pacman's ever faced and he'd walk all over pacman.
being the southpaw that manny is i think he would give hatton a probelm since hatton has had trouble fighting southpaw fighters in the past... even tho he didnt lose to a southpaw fighter one has droped him... since hatton leaps in with lunging left hooks its an easy counter attack just to throw the right hook/jab to put an end to combos just like wright did to trinidad ... i think it would be an interesting fight
